Eliana's struggle was far from over. Akira's grip on her arm tightened as he dragged her back to her room. She stumbled, her bare feet scraping against the floor.
Once inside, Akira tossed her onto the bed. Eliana landed hard, the air knocked out of her lungs. Akira's eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and disappointment.
"You were warned, Eliana," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You know the consequences of trying to escape."
Eliana's chest heaved as she struggled to catch her breath. "I'll never give up," she spat, her defiance unwavering.
Akira's expression darkened. "We'll see about that."
He turned to leave, but not before Eliana saw something in his eyes – a flicker of uncertainty. It gave her hope.
The days that followed were grueling. Akira's guards watched her every move, and she was subjected to increased restrictions. But Eliana's determination never wavered.
One evening, as she sat in her room, Eliana heard the door open. She expected Akira or one of his guards, but instead, it was a young woman she'd never seen before.
The woman's eyes darted around the room before settling on Eliana. "I'm Naomi," she whispered. "Akira's sister."
Eliana's surprise was evident. "What do you want?"
Naomi's voice was barely audible. "I want to help you. Akira's not what he seems."
Eliana's skepticism was natural, but Naomi's words sparked curiosity. "What do you mean?"
Naomi glanced around the room nervously. "He's trapped, just like you. Our family's expectations, the business – it's all suffocating him. But he's not beyond redemption."
Eliana's mind whirled with questions. Could Akira's actions be justified? Was there more to him than met the eye?
Naomi continued, "I can help you escape, but you must be careful. Akira's guards are everywhere."
Eliana's heart skipped a beat. This could be her chance. "How do we do it?"
Naomi smiled faintly. "I'll leave a door unlocked tonight. Be ready."
With that, Naomi disappeared, leaving Eliana with more questions than answers. But for the first time since her captivity, Eliana felt a glimmer of hope.
As the hours ticked by, Eliana's anticipation grew. Would Naomi's plan work? Would she finally escape?
The night wore on, and Eliana waited, her senses on high alert. The door creaked open, and she slipped out into the darkness, her heart pounding with excitement and fear.
Eliana's heart pounded as she crept out of the room, her bare feet making barely a sound on the cold floor. Naomi's plan was working, and she had to move quickly.
The hallway was dimly lit, the shadows cast by the flickering lights making her feel like she was in a nightmare. Eliana's senses were on high alert, her ears straining to detect any sign of the guards.
As she moved swiftly through the corridors, Eliana's mind racing with thoughts of freedom. She had to get out of there, no matter what.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps echoing from the hallway. Eliana's heart skipped a beat as she ducked into a nearby alcove, holding her breath.
The guard passed by, his eyes scanning the area. Eliana waited until he disappeared around the corner before she continued on her way.
Naomi's instructions had been clear: make your way to the east wing, and you'll find a door that leads to the garden. From there, you can escape.
Eliana followed the directions, her heart pounding in her chest. She reached the east wing and found the door Naomi had described.
With a deep breath, Eliana pushed the door open and slipped out into the night. The cool air hit her like a slap in the face, and she felt alive.
The garden was vast, with towering trees and overgrown bushes. Eliana's eyes adjusted slowly to the darkness, and she began to make her way through the maze-like paths.
As she walked, the sound of gravel crunching beneath her feet seemed to echo through the night. Eliana's senses were on high alert, her ears straining to detect any sign of pursuit.
Suddenly, she heard a rustling in the bushes. Eliana's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face the sound. A figure emerged from the shadows, and Eliana's breath caught in her throat.
It was Akira.
"You shouldn't have tried," he said, his eyes blazing with anger.
Eliana's defiance surged to the surface. "I'll never give up," she spat, her eyes flashing with determination.
Akira's expression darkened, and he took a step closer to her. Eliana stood her ground, her heart pounding in her chest.
The air was thick with tension as they faced off in the darkness. Eliana knew she had to get away, but Akira's grip seemed unyielding.
Just as Akira's hand closed around her wrist, a noise echoed through the garden. The sound of footsteps, heavy and deliberate, came from the direction of the house.
Akira's head snapped up, his eyes narrowing. "What the...?"
Eliana took advantage of the distraction. With a swift movement, she wrenched her arm free and took off running, her bare feet pounding against the gravel.
She didn't dare look back, fearing what she might see. Eliana's heart pounded in her chest as she sprinted through the garden, the sound of Akira's angry shout echoing behind her.
