Episode 5 - Challenge

The next morning, Ivy called Rain in the early morning,

-     "Get Up Girl! I've awesome news."

-     "What is it... Ivy? It's only 6.30! I wanna sleep."

-      "Oh, dear... After yesterday's hustle, I forgot to check the Webbo! Do you know what's it??"

-      "What... Ever it is... I wanna sleep"

-      "Cut it off! Do you know, today there's a new transferred student coming to our school..."

-       "Okay... Let's see it in school..."

-      "Hmmm... I understand, let's talk later!"

She hanged up and Rain yawned a little then got down from the bed. It was too early so Rain went out after cleaned up. There was a basketball court nearby at 10 mins walking from her house. She was enjoying the fresh morning air, walking towards the BB court.

*Pat! Pat! Pat!*

She halted hearing the sound of dribbling. It was a boy in the court practicing. Rain was observing his moves. Suddenly she spoke out,

-          "That's wrong! If you move it like that someone could easily snatch it... Dribble it carefully!"

The boy halted hearing her voice. He turned around towards her and Rain got shocked after seeing his face.

-          "You!", said Rain surprisingly, "Shane... Right?" Shane dusted his hands off and wiped his sweat from his

forehead. He walked to her and spoke out,

-          "What are you doing here? At this early hour?" Rain sighed, "my house is not further from here... Anyways,

you?"

-     "Same here... By the way, what are you talking about earlier??"

-     "I said you're dribbling the ball in a wrong way... If you do that the ball will be snatched!"

-    "Hahaha! Did you ever play the ball?... I mean for real... Oh, wait... You did, I guess..."

-    "It has nothing to do with you... I said that unconsciously... It's fine."

-    "No way! Let's have a match! I wanna see how you can play... Hah!"

-    "I can't play..."

-   "Don't joke around... Accept my challenge or I'll think you're not even novice!"

-    "I don't care... Do whatever you want...."

Rain turned around for leaving but Shane was not in a mood of letting her go without seeing her flaunting skills. Shane smirked,

-    "Heh! Then... Why'd you stood your team up at finals?"*

Rain halted and turned back,

-    "It has nothing to do with you!"

Shane chuckled,

-    "Great! Accept my challenge then."

Rain sighed as he was not ready to let her pass easily. "This guy! Forget it... It has been 3 years since I'd last

touched the ball. Let's give it a try!" Rain thought of herself and spoke out,

-    "Bring it on!"* Shane smirked as he finally managed her to play.

He didn't know himself why'd he force her so much... Maybe somewhere\, he wanted her to say that she was not a betrayer. Rain stretched her arms and... *Pat! Pat! Pat!"... They started. Within a blink of an eye\, Rain managed to dodge the ball from Shane and *Whoosh* the first basket in the first minute. Shane

got literally surprised because he never imagined her playing this quick! Rain smirked and went for the second one but Shane blocked it this time.

-    "Hahaha! Not again Ms Rain!"

Rain smiled,

-    "Okay. Let's see!"
