#4 THE ALPHA'S CLAIM: A NEW BEGINNING

"Sir, I'm truly sorry," Jay choked out, dropping to his knees. "I'm so, so sorry for what I did that day. I truly can't remember anything that happened." Tears welled in his eyes, blurring his vision. "I'm very sorry, sir."

Cain sighed, the sound heavy with a weariness that spoke volumes. "Do you know that you marked me?"

Jay tilted his head, confusion momentarily eclipsing his fear. Then, understanding dawned with terrifying clarity. His eyes widened in horror. "I… I did that to you?"

Cain nodded, his gaze unwavering. "And you knotted me."

Jay's face paled. A strangled sob escaped his lips. "Whaaat? Oh god. Please kill me now. I marked my boss… I knotted him…" he mumbled, his voice barely audible. A thought struck him, sending a fresh wave of panic through him. Does that mean…? His mind raced, the implications terrifyingly clear. There's a possibility he's…

"Mr. Williams," Cain interrupted, his voice cutting through Jay's internal turmoil.

"Yes, sir?" Jay whispered, his voice trembling.

Cain's words hung in the air, both a sentence and a life-altering decree. "I want you to live with me. Stick with me every day. You need to take responsibility, right?" He paused, allowing the weight of his words to sink in. "Do you understand me, Mr. Williams?"

Jay nodded, his voice caught in his throat. "Yes, sir… but sir, when will I move in?"

"Today," Cain stated firmly. "Go home now and pack your things. I'll send one of my bodyguards to drive you to my house."

Jay could only manage a stunned, "Pardon?"

"You will move in with me today," Cain repeated, his tone brooking no argument.

"Okay, sir," Jay mumbled, still reeling from the shock.

The drive to Cain's house was a blur. Jay sat rigidly in the backseat, his mind a whirlwind of emotions. He arrived at his apartment, his hands shaking as he began to pack. He gathered a few necessities, his movements mechanical, his thoughts consumed by the enormity of his situation.

The bodyguard, a stoic figure, waited patiently. "Are you done?" he asked.

"Yes," Jay replied, his voice barely a whisper. "Let's go."

The ride was quiet, the tension palpable. Jay was a nervous wreck. I'm going to live with him, starting today, he thought, his heart pounding in his chest. I should have packed more…

"Are you nervous?" the bodyguard asked, breaking the silence.

"Of course I am," Jay admitted. "Who wouldn't be? I'm living with Cain Davis. The one and only Omega who stands with the Alphas in the ladder."

"Are you that amazed by him?" the bodyguard asked, a hint of amusement in his tone.

"Of course," Jay replied, his voice thick with emotion. "I idolize him. And now… I mated with him."

"You're lucky," the bodyguard said simply.

"I'm not lucky," Jay retorted. "Do you know I didn't just mate with him? I marked him, and I knotted him!"

The bodyguard's eyes widened in surprise. He slammed on the brakes, causing Jay to lurch forward.

"What do you think you're doing?" Jay exclaimed, his voice sharp with alarm.

"Sorry," the bodyguard said, still slightly stunned. "I'm just surprised by what you said. Good luck, man!"

Jay could only manage a tearful, "I don't want to die yet. I still want to do so many things…"

"Shut up, will you?" the bodyguard interrupted, his voice laced with a hint of amusement. "We're here."

"What? Already?" Jay asked, astonished.

"Yes," the bodyguard replied. "Get out now. Sir Cain must be waiting. Good luck, man!" He gave Jay a thumbs-up as Jay stepped out of the car, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs, his future uncertain, his life irrevocably changed.
