The Will of Fire – Episode 14
A New Era Begins
The Fourth Hokage Takes Command
With the village still recovering from the attack, the appointment of Lord Fourth brought a sense of stability. Takashi wasted no time in establishing order.
From the moment he sat in the Hokage’s chair, he began issuing commands:
Rebuilding squads were assigned to restore damaged areas.
Medical teams worked day and night to heal the wounded.
Elite scouting units were dispatched to track down Aika and Hyouma.
Dan, Riko, and Suki, along with the rest of the new Genin, watched as the village slowly returned to normal.
Team 7’s First Official Mission
A week after the attack, Team 7 was summoned to the Hokage’s office.
Takashi: "Your Jonin leader, Sayuri, has requested a mission suitable for your skill level."
Dan, excited: "Finally! No more stupid D-rank missions like picking up trash!"
Takashi: "Don’t be too eager. This is still a C-rank mission."
Dan: "C-rank? That’s too easy."
Sayuri smirked: "Oh? Then maybe I should recommend you for an A-rank mission instead?"
Dan’s confidence wavered. "Uh… never mind, C-rank sounds fine."
Takashi handed Sayuri a scroll.
Takashi: "There have been reports of bandits harassing a nearby village. You are to travel there, assess the situation, and eliminate any threats."
Riko: "Sounds simple enough."
Suki nodded. "We won’t let you down, Lord Fourth."
Takashi: "Good. Dismissed."
As Team 7 left the office, Takashi watched them carefully.
"This new generation… will they be ready for what’s coming?"
A Dangerous Road Ahead
The journey to the village took a day, with Team 7 traveling through thick forests and winding roads.
Dan: "Man, I can’t wait to finally see some real action."
Sayuri: "Stay focused. Overconfidence gets people killed."
Riko: "She’s right. We don’t know what we’re up against yet."
As they approached the village, they noticed something strange—it was completely silent.
Suki: "Something’s wrong."
Sayuri signaled for them to move carefully. As they stepped inside, they found houses destroyed, fires still smoldering, and no sign of life.
Dan gulped. "I thought this was just bandits… but this looks like a massacre."
Suddenly, a shadow moved in the distance.
Sayuri drew her kunai. "Stay sharp. We’re not alone."
From the darkness, figures emerged.
Not bandits.
Something far worse.

Shadows in the Ruins
A Village in Fear
Team 7 stood in the ruined village, tense and alert. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and blood. Houses were shattered, carts overturned, and weapons lay scattered on the ground—yet there were no bodies.
Dan: "Where is everyone?"
Suki: "This isn’t normal… If bandits attacked, there should be bodies."
Sayuri narrowed her eyes. "Stay close. Something’s watching us."
The moment she spoke, a kunai flew from the shadows. She dodged instantly, and Team 7 jumped back into formation.
Riko activated his Sharingan, scanning the area. "I see them—five enemies, hiding in the rubble."
A deep voice echoed through the air. "Well, well… Looks like we’ve got some fresh meat."
From the darkness, five masked figures stepped forward. Their forehead protectors were scratched, marking them as rogue shinobi.
The Ambush Begins
Without hesitation, Sayuri took charge. "Dan, Suki—flank from the sides! Riko, provide backup!"
The enemy attacked first.
One rogue shinobi rushed forward, swinging a massive blade at Sayuri. She dodged effortlessly, countering with a chakra-infused palm strike that sent him flying.
Dan engaged another, throwing shuriken before charging in with a kunai. The enemy blocked and retaliated with a sweeping kick, sending Dan rolling across the ground.
Suki, using her agility, weaved between two attackers, dodging their blows before landing a well-placed kick to one’s stomach.
Riko’s Sharingan predicted an incoming attack, allowing him to sidestep a kunai slash before countering with a fireball jutsu.
One rogue shinobi smirked. "Not bad for kids. But let’s see how you handle this—"
He formed hand seals at lightning speed.
"Earth Style: Stone Bind Jutsu!"
The ground beneath Team 7 cracked, and suddenly, stone pillars shot up, trapping their movements.
Dan: "Damn it, I can’t move!"
The enemy closed in.
Sayuri’s Power Unleashed
Just as one of the rogue shinobi was about to stab Dan, Sayuri moved.
In an instant, she appeared in front of him, catching his wrist mid-stab.
Sayuri: "You really thought you could lay a hand on my students?"
She squeezed his wrist—bones cracked, and he screamed in pain. With a single palm strike to his chest, she sent him crashing through a stone wall.
Sayuri: "Dan, Suki—break free and regroup!"
Dan, using sheer strength, broke out of the stone bind, while Suki used chakra control to slip through a crack.
Riko, still restrained, focused his Sharingan.
His eyes spun faster, his vision sharpening.
Then—his left eye pulsed.
A strange sensation flooded his mind. Suddenly, the stone bindings shattered around him.
Riko: "What… was that?"
No time to think. The fight continued.
The Battle’s End
With Sayuri leading, Team 7 turned the tide. One by one, the rogue shinobi fell.
The last remaining enemy, the leader, stared at Sayuri.
Enemy Leader: "Tch. This isn’t worth it."
He threw a smoke bomb and vanished into the night.
Dan: "Coward!"
Sayuri: "Forget him. We need to secure the village."
Team 7 checked the ruins. That’s when they found something shocking—a hidden underground shelter.
Inside?
Terrified villagers, hiding in fear.
A Sinister Truth
One elder stepped forward, his voice shaking. "You must leave… Before they come back."
Suki: "Who? Those rogue ninjas?"
The elder shook his head. "No… something far worse."
Sayuri’s expression darkened. "What do you mean?"
The elder hesitated, then whispered:
"They weren’t attacking us… They were running. Running from… them."
Dan gulped. "Who the hell is ‘them’?"
Before the elder could answer, a chilling roar echoed through the night.
Something… was coming.
