Infinite Love

Infinite Love

1 chapter

"Where the hell am I?" I muttered, blinking rapidly as I took in my surroundings.

I was in a luxurious, elegant room that practically screamed royalty. The walls were adorned with intricate golden designs, and the soft candlelight cast a warm glow over the place. The air smelled faintly of lavender and something expensive—probably the scent of wealth itself.

I glanced around, my confusion growing.

The furniture looked so lavish that I felt like even touching it would leave me in debt. There were beautifully crafted chairs with plush cushions, an enormous sofa-like thing that looked way too fancy to just be a couch, and in front of it, a massive table covered with an assortment of delicious-looking snacks and a steaming pot of tea. Whoever lived here clearly enjoyed the finer things in life.

A large mirror stood in one corner, and tall windows lined the walls, draped with silky curtains that swayed gently from the breeze slipping through the cracks. Outside, the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink, meaning it was either sunrise or sunset—not that I had any clue which.

I frowned, trying to piece together how I had gotten here.

The last thing I remembered was... getting hit by a truck.

I groaned, rubbing my temples. Right. That happened.

I had just finished an exhausting shift at work and was heading home when I decided to check out a new game on my phone. I was scrolling through the options, trying to decide which one to pick, when I finally pressed the select button. And then—BAM.

Truck-kun, in all his unstoppable glory, plowed straight into me.

I had barely registered the pain before my vision faded to black. I could vaguely remember the cold pavement beneath me, the distant sound of people shouting, and then… nothing.

(Of course, Truck-kun just had to make an appearance. It’s practically an unwritten rule at this point.)

But instead of waking up in a hospital or, you know, the afterlife, I somehow ended up here.

I glanced down at myself and nearly choked.

I was wearing a cherry-red gown made of the finest fabric I had ever seen. The sleeves were long and elegant, trimmed with delicate lace, and the bodice fit me perfectly—which was odd, considering I had never worn anything remotely like this before.

The dress itself felt expensive, like something only nobility would wear.

I needed answers.

I turned to the mirror, and the moment my reflection stared back at me, I nearly had a heart attack.

It was me… but not exactly.

My features were more refined, my doe eyes sparkled unnaturally bright, my button nose was straighter, and my heart-shaped lips looked perfectly sculpted. My long, wavy black hair cascaded down to my lower back, silkier and shinier than I had ever seen it.

I blinked.

I leaned closer.

I poked my own cheek.

Yup. This was definitely me. But a much, much more beautiful version of me. It was as if someone had taken my face and edited it to perfection.

My mind raced. Had I… transmigrated?

I had read plenty of novels about people getting transported into books or games. Was this the same thing?

The idea was so exciting that I giggled happily, clapping my hands like a child. If anyone saw me right now, they’d probably assume I had completely lost it.

But then, a horrifying thought hit me.

"Wait… how do I know which book or game I’m in?"

Panic replaced my excitement. I had read too many books and played way too many games to figure it out immediately. What if I had landed in one of those dark fantasy stories where people got betrayed, poisoned, or burned at the stake for the smallest mistake?

I gulped. Please let this be a wholesome otome game.

Before I could spiral further into my thoughts, the door suddenly creaked open.

I stiffened as a young servant girl entered, dressed in a simple maid’s outfit. She had neatly tied brown hair, wide blue eyes, and a slightly nervous expression as she approached me.

She gave me a respectful bow before speaking.

"My Lady Sylviane, your family is expecting you for dinner."

I froze.

Oh.

Oh.

Welp. That answered one of my questions.

Not only was I in a new world, but I apparently had a family here too.

And they were expecting me.

…This was going to be interesting.
