A Short Story's

More Than Just Colleagues

Part 1

- A Tension Unspoken

Radha had worked at Mehta & Co. for two years, and in all that time, she had never quite figured out Madhav.

Her senior. Her mentor. Her biggest distraction.

He was brilliant, confident, and impossibly handsome. But more than that-he always noticed her.

The way his gaze lingered when she spoke. The way he always found a reason to be near her.

Yet, despite everything-he never crossed the line.

And it drove her insane.

So when a new intern, Karan, joined the company and started paying her attention-

Radha let it happen.

She wasn't trying to make Madhav jealous.

Not really.

But the moment he saw her laughing at Karan's joke, something in him changed.

Part 2 - A Jealous Fire

For the next few days, Madhav was colder. Sharper.

He barely looked at her in meetings. He spoke to her formally, as if they weren't... whatever they were.

Radha felt the distance like a weight.

Finally, she had enough.

One evening, as he was about to leave, she blocked his way.

"What's wrong with you?"

Madhav's jaw tightened. "Nothing."

She scoffed. "You've been ignoring me for days. If I did something, tell me."

He exhaled sharply. "You didn't do anything, Radha."

A pause.

Then-softer, almost bitter. "I just didn't think you'd fall for someone like Karan."

Radha's eyes widened.

"Wait. You think I-"

And then-she laughed.

Madhav frowned. "What's funny?"

She stepped closer, her voice gentle, teasing. "Are you jealous?"

His silence was telling.

Radha's heart pounded. "Madhav..." She looked up at him, searching his face. "If you care, say it."

A storm raged in his eyes. "You know I care."

Part 3 - The Confession & The Promise

The words hung between them.

Radha swallowed. "Then why have you never said anything?"

Madhav hesitated. Then-he sighed.

"Because I never wanted to hold you back." His voice was raw.

"You have so much ahead of you, Radha.

And if being with me ever made you doubt yourself, I-"

She cut him off, her fingers gripping his shirt. "You idiot."

Then-she kissed him.

It was soft at first, but the moment Madhav responded, it turned into something deeper. More real than anything before.

When they pulled apart, he pressed his forehead to hers. "Radha..."

She smiled. "I don't need your permission to love you, Madhav. I already do."

His arms tightened around her. "Then I swear to you, Radha-I will never let you doubt us again."

And he never did.

Moral of the Story:

"Love isn't about waiting for the perfect moment. It's about choosing each other, despite the fears, the doubts, and the unknown."

The End.

What do you think? I kept it short but filled with emotions, jealousy, romance, and a strong promise
