A job at the Bakery

After a few weeks in the hospital, Kai was finally well enough to return home. His family welcomed him back with open arms, and though the house felt warm, something was still missing in his heart. Valentino, the children, the life he had once known—it all felt like a distant dream. But he couldn’t linger in his memories forever.

One afternoon, as he sat in the living room, his mother came over with a gentle smile.

“Kai,” she said softly, “I think it’s time you start moving forward. You need to find something to focus on, something that can help you heal. Why don’t you go and look for a job? It’s important to start living in the real world again.”

Kai looked at her, his heart still heavy with conflicting emotions. He wanted to stay in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the people who loved him. But deep down, he knew his mother was right. He had to find a way to keep going, even if he didn’t fully understand everything yet.

As the days went by, Kai worked at the bakery, getting used to the rhythm of kneading dough, decorating pastries, and interacting with the customers. Vallentino, the baker, was patient with him, showing him the ins and outs of the business, and Kai soon found a sense of peace in the routine.

But every time he looked into Vallentino’s eyes, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he was looking at someone he had known in another life. It was haunting, yet comforting. His heart would race, and the memories of Valentino from his past life would flood back, but he would quickly push them away.

One evening, as he continued his work in the bakery, Vallentino came over to check on him. "You’re doing a great job, Kai," he said with a smile. "I think you’ve really found your rhythm here."

Kai couldn’t help but smile back, feeling a little more at home in this new place. But still, the strange connection lingered in his heart, unanswered.

What do u guys want in the other episode my mind is empty.

“Alright,” Kai replied, his voice hesitant but determined. “I’ll try.”

The next day, Kai ventured out to the city in search of a job. The bustling streets were full of people going about their daily lives, and the noise of the world felt so foreign to him after everything he’d been through. But he walked with purpose, his heart set on finding something that would help him feel grounded.

After a few hours of searching, Kai found a small bakery on the corner of a quiet street. The warm scent of freshly baked bread and pastries filled the air, and the cozy atmosphere immediately drew him in. He stepped inside, greeted by the sound of the bell above the door.

"Hi, welcome! How can I help you?" a voice called from behind the counter.

Kai looked up, his eyes immediately drawn to the young man standing behind the bakery counter. The man was in his twenties, with messy brown hair and a warm smile that made Kai feel at ease. But what caught Kai's attention the most was his eyes.

They were the same piercing blue eyes as Valentino's. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as Kai stared at the man, his heart racing. There was no mistaking it. These eyes—the same eyes that had haunted his dreams—belonged to someone else. But the man in front of him wasn’t Valentino. He was older, more mature, and his expression was far different from the one Kai remembered.

Kai blinked, trying to shake off the strange feeling that was building in his chest. “U-uh, sorry,” he stammered, shaking his head. “I was just… I’m looking for a job.”

The man’s eyes softened with understanding. “Oh, you’re looking for work?” he asked, stepping closer to the counter. “Well, we’re actually hiring. Are you interested in helping out here?”

Kai nodded, still trying to process the strange connection he felt. “I’d like that,” he replied quietly. “I’ve never worked in a bakery before, but I’m willing to learn.”

The baker smiled warmly, his golden eyes gleaming with kindness. “Great! I’m Valentino, by the way. I can show you the ropes.”

Kai smiled back, his heart still fluttering from the overwhelming sense of familiarity. There was something about this man, Golden, that made Kai feel oddly comfortable. It was as if he had known him for much longer than a few minutes. But how could that be? This wasn’t Vallentino. No… it

couldn’t be.

I know everyone is just trying to look out for him, but I just gotta say this, I don’t like his family (there I said it). His mother just says oh shut up about all of that, you have to live In the real world. How am I to know if the “real” world is real? I was gaslit to the fullest by my “siblings” as a sick joke! Are you real? Am I real? that would not make me feel better at all hearing those words come from that woman’s mouth! or from my so-called “siblings” mouth!

I really hope this man is the real life equivalent of Valentino, so that way they could be happy. even if he isn’t exactly the same. I just want Kai to come out of this with a happy ending.🥺
