I got of work very late and thus couldn't reach home the time I promised Simon. On the way back, I thought I should buy a takeout for the boys, and as thought I do it. I haven't been able to spend much time with the boys lately. Kevin is already a grown boy but Simon is still my small little baby. I know he expects me to spend time with him. He still has little number of friends as he always did. Simon is an introverted character, unlike my other son. He can make friends anywhere he goes. Sometimes I worry about the little one but I know he'll be just fine . He always has been. Never complained.

As I reach the front door I ring the bell and wait for someone to answer. Only no one does. I ring it again. " strange" I think to myself. I ring it 2 or 3 more times. Then I try the handle, and the door opens. Going in I call out for both my sons but neither answers. At this point I understood none of them were home and had gone put together. Not that I am mad about it, but a little irritated that neither of them cared enpugh to inform me before leaving, Kevin ok, but Simon ?-. He should have, shouldn't he ?

Kevin

Mum already home by the time I get back. She's in the kitchen, I don't really what she's doing but I think she's about to bake something, and hence the dough. She notices me standing there, without looking, opens her mouth, and starts talking.

" where have you been, Kevin? Do you realize what time it is now ?" she says, " its almost time we have dinner. Now you can go out as its weekend but still have to get home for family dinner. Its the only time we all sit together as a family now, you need to start respecting these events young man."

" yes mum I'm sorry" I say, " it won't happen again, and sorry I didn't inform you about going out."

" Now I thought you'd never bring that up, it was sensible of you to apologize before I could ask you about it"

" yes, mum. I didn't want to anger you, you are frightening when done so."

She look at me from the corner of her eye as if I said something ridiculously untrue, I stare back at her, making sure my eyes tell her " we both its true". After a while she sighs and says " go back to your room, I'll call for dinner when ready. And please open the door when your father arrives, he should be here any moment."

I do as she tells me to.

Kevin

20 minutes after my conversation with mum, dad arrives at the door. I know its him, I can tell by how the doorbell rings. I open the door for him to enter, I'm glad to see he doesn't look as exhausted as the past few days . I bring him a glass of fresh and cold orange juice. And then I head back to my room knowing that mum will call for dinner not much later.

As expected, 10 minutes later I get called for dinner. I head down stairs to find everyone already in the dining room except for that little nerd. I make my way to the table .

" where's your brother ?" mum asks.

" he isn't here ?" I reply.

" well certainty not, can't you see that ?"

" well he should be in his room right ?"

" well start dining, I'll have the butler call for him".

With that said, both me and dad took out seats and start eating. Whatever mum has cooked today was absolutely delicious. Mum made the butler call for Simon.

After sometime, the butler came down. What he said took us all by surprise.

" Madam" he said " the young master is not in his room. Also not anywhere on the first and second floor. It seems that he hasn't returned from where ever he might have gone to."

Mum with a serious look on her face turns to me,

" wasn't Simon with you, didn't the both of you go out together ?"

" no he wasn't, he was reading a book and I didn't want to disturb him so I took off alone "

" well where is he then ?"
