Chp 1

Ren knew something was wrong.

The first time, it was subtle...his keys were missing, only to reappear in his coat pocket. The second time, his apartment door was unlocked when he was sure he locked it.

Then came the messages.

"I love the way you tilt your head when you’re thinking."

"You hum in your sleep sometimes. It’s adorable."

"You don’t have to be afraid. I’ll always protect you."

Protect him from what? From who?

Ren started feeling eyes on him. A prickling sensation at the back of his neck, a shadow slipping just out of sight.

It started disturbing him...who could be it? Is someone pranking him? He doesn't know this.

"U look like a fucking panda" said Axel. One of Ren's Bff. "Thanks for informing me Mf" Ren said sarcastically.

"Ur always welcome...but genuinely curious what happened are u fine?"

Ren thought about telling all those incidents to Axel… But he felt as if it was wrong what if he was just imagining things...hmm maybe he's imagining those things...but even if he's imagining things what about the letters? That surely isn't his imagination

Before he could say anything to Axel, Lucius brother of Axel came there complaining about some new boy that their café just hired.

"That weird streak of meat, what does he even think about himself, huh? These youngsters nowadays don't even know how to treat their elders hmph" said Lucius.

"Damn, who stole your patience bitch?" asked Axel…

"That new brat that has been hired very recently, he dared to tell me.... The 'chef' of the café that, how much sugar I should put in the cupcake batter... Like brat, I'm doing this since I don't even remember how dare u tell me what to do and what not to do"

"Well Lucias why are u even making cupcakes now? I mean isn't it time to close the café...?" Ren asked.

"Well I was making for u... isn't your birthday Tomorrow so thought of making it and giving it to u" said Lucias scratching his neck awkwardly.

"Oh wow,,,, thank you so much Lucias". Ren said sincerely. "Well if it was for Ren then bro u should know he likes less sugar in his cupcakes" muttered Axel rather pointedly towards his brother. "What? Is it true…Ren? Oh god,, I'm sorry I didn't put less sugar I should have listened to that brat" said Lucias

"That brat has a name, chef" said an unknown voice who was listening to their conversation since starting. "And the name is Luca" He said eyeing Ren up to down.

"Yeah…yeah whatever Mr. Luca" Lucias said rolling his eyes.

"I told you to put less sugar… Now u ruin his birthday chef" said Luca with a smile which noticed closely one can say was a smirk.

Lucias got sad listening to this he really thought he did ruin his birthday and was about to say sorry when Ren chirped in.

"No…no brother Lucias I'm rather glad that u made this for me. I'm really thankful to you. So don't feel sad" Ren said with a genuine smile.

Listening to this Lucias felt better.

After the café closed.

It was around 10 pm when the café closed. As tomorrow was Sunday, Ren wasn't in hurry to reach his home. He was going while mumbling a soft tune when he felt like someone was watching him. He looked around being scared but as it was no one was there. But he was sure he felt someone gaze. So he started walking fast. In order to reach home he quickened his speed and reach his destination.

He slowly unlocked the door and went inside closing the door securely. He already had his dinner in the café so he just wanted to sleep but decided to take a shower before heading to sleep.
