[Present Day – Jungkook’s Apartment]
Jungkook paced the room, his mind in turmoil. The weight of memories he had no control over was suffocating him.
He had killed Taehyung.
Again and again, in different lifetimes, with different circumstances, but the outcome was always the same. His hands stained with Taehyung’s blood. His heart shattered beyond repair.
His phone vibrated on the table.
Yoongi: Where are you?
Jungkook ignored it.
How was he supposed to explain this? That he wasn’t just falling for Taehyung—he had already loved him for lifetimes, only to lose him over and over again?
His fingers curled into fists.
This time, he wouldn’t let history repeat itself.
\[Past Life – A Battlefield at Dusk\]
The sky was painted in hues of red and orange, the last light of the sun casting eerie shadows over the blood-soaked ground.
Taehyung stood among the fallen, his sword trembling in his grip. His white robes were no longer white—streaked with dirt, blood, and the weight of an unavoidable fate.
Jungkook, dressed in black armor, faced him with a solemn expression.
"You should have surrendered," Jungkook said, voice low.
Taehyung let out a soft laugh. "I could say the same to you."
A gust of wind carried their silence, thick with unsaid words.
Jungkook’s grip on his sword tightened. "You know how this ends."
Taehyung’s eyes softened. "I do."
Jungkook took a step forward. "Then why do you keep fighting?"
Taehyung tilted his head, smiling faintly. "Because I love you."
Jungkook’s breath caught.
And in the next moment—
Taehyung lunged.
Jungkook reacted on instinct.
Cold steel met warm flesh.
Taehyung gasped as the sword pierced his abdomen, his fingers gripping Jungkook’s wrist, not to push him away, but to hold him closer.
Jungkook's world blurred. "No… no, no, no—"
Taehyung’s lips curled into a small, sad smile. "Find me again."
And then his body went limp.
[Present Day – Taehyung’s Apartment]
Taehyung sat by the window, staring at the city lights, lost in thought.
Jungkook was starting to remember too fast. If he unraveled everything before Taehyung could prepare, they would be doomed to the same fate.
A soft knock on the door made him tense.
He already knew who it was.
He stood up and opened the door.
Jungkook was there, breathless, his eyes wild. "Tell me how to stop it."
Taehyung’s heart clenched. "Stop what?"
Jungkook grabbed his wrist, desperation laced in his touch. "Tell me how to stop losing you."
Taehyung exhaled shakily. "You can't."
Jungkook’s jaw clenched. "The hell I can’t. I refuse to go through this again."
Taehyung looked at him—really looked at him. "Then are you willing to defy fate?"
Jungkook didn't hesitate. "I'll burn the world down if I have to."
Taehyung smiled, something broken in it. "Then you better be ready for the consequences."
Because no one defied fate without a price.
