"This exam is a joke," Aldric muttered under his breath, watching the candidates with disinterest. "None of these weaklings deserve to be in the same academy as me."

Ireth glanced at him but remained silent.

Then Aldric’s gaze landed on Shane Wyne.

His expression soured.

"Who is that?" he thought, feeling an odd sense of irritation despite having never seen Shane before.

Something about Shane bothered him.

"Just a low-ranked Awakener. Why does he feel… different?"

A powerful voice echoed through the coliseum:

"Welcome, candidates. The First Trial begins now."

A blinding energy barrier sealed off the battlefield, cutting the participants off from the outside world. Then, without warning, the sky darkened as massive shadows loomed overhead.

A fleet of mechanized drones, each standing several stories tall, descended onto the battlefield.

"Your task is simple," the announcer’s voice boomed. "Survive."

The battlefield erupted into chaos as candidates scrambled to react. Some instantly activated their warships, while others unleashed their Psionic Energy to boost their physical capabilities.

Shane, however, remained still.

He wasn’t afraid.

If anything, he felt an eerie sense of calm—as if this battlefield was exactly where he was meant to be.

Above, in the VIP section, Ireth’s lips curled into a small smile as she observed him.

Beside her, Aldric scoffed.

"Hmph. He’s just standing there like a fool."

But something told Ireth otherwise.

She watched as Shane finally moved.

And when he did, everything changed.
