Chapter 4

Tiffany's voice cut through the haze, her eyes narrowing as she took in my disheveled appearance. "You look like you're on drugs," she said, concern etched on her face.

I rolled my eyes, a tired smirk spreading across my lips. "And you look like you've had experience in that sense." Her eyes flashed, but she just smirked, a habit she had when she was mad.

"Damn, if it wasn't for your dick and your face, I don't think anyone would be around you," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she slipped on her clothes.

I shrugged, taking out a lighter to ignite my cigarette. "Same." The flame danced across my face, casting eerie shadows on the walls.

Tiffany grabbed her bag, her eyes lingering on me before she smiled wryly. "Nothing, you just look like shit. Hope you get better." With a wave, she was gone.

I slumped back onto the bed, my eyes drifting shut as exhaustion claimed me. The cigarette burned out in the ashtray, a faint haze of smoke hanging in the air.

But my reprieve was short-lived. My eyes snapped open, and I was met with an unfamiliar landscape. I was in the middle of nowhere, the only sound my own ragged breathing.

I stumbled to my feet, my eyes scanning the desolate horizon. And all of a sudden figure appeared out of nowhere in the distance, and I took off in a sprint, desperation fueling my legs.

As I drew closer, I saw it was a woman in a red dress, though her face was hidden behind her long black hair. I reached out to touch her shoulder, and she turned, her neck twisting at an unnatural angle.

"Hey, sweetie," she crooned, her voice like a rusty gate. I recoiled, my heart racing as she began to crackle and contort, her body twisting in ways that seemed humanly impossible.

I turned and ran, my feet pounding the dry earth. But no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being herded toward some unknown fate as she floated towards me at an unnatural speed.

Suddenly, the ground gave way beneath me, and I plummeted into an abyss. The cry that echoed through the night was one of pure agony, and I knew I was staring into the face of my deepest fears.

The shadow was back, its dark tendrils wrapping around me like a shroud. I fought to break free, but it was too late. The darkness closed in, and I was consumed.

I gasped sharply, my lungs burning as I struggled to find my breath. My phone was my lifeline, and I grasped it with shaking fingers, dialing Jimmy's number as the darkness closed in.

His voice was a distant echo, a worried tone that seemed to come from a different world. I tried to respond, but my voice was trapped in my throat.

And then, everything went black.
