The night was stretching lazily, the café lights flickering against the deep blue sky. Plates lay empty, cups half-filled, but the conversations showed no sign of stopping. The past had cracked open, and now memories were spilling out freely, one after another.
Laughter filled the air, louder than it had been in years.
"Do you guys remember the time we almost got suspended for sneaking into the teacher’s lounge?" Gourav grinned, leaning back in his chair.
"Oh, that was legendary!" Vicky burst out. "Ronny had convinced us there was a secret stash of snacks inside."
"And guess what? There actually was." Shivam smirked. "But instead of stealing food, we got caught red-handed."
"Correction," Aman added, shaking his head. "We got caught because Ronny just had to try and take the principal’s special tea."
Ronny grinned unapologetically. "Some people steal money, some steal gold. I stole chai. It’s called priorities."
The whole group laughed, lost in the sheer ridiculousness of their past.

As the night deepened, Ronny leaned back, looking at his friends.
For the first time in years, he felt like he could breathe. Like the weight he had been carrying was suddenly lighter.
"You know what?" Ronny said suddenly. "I don’t want this to end."
They all looked at him, confused.
"We finally got together after so many years," Ronny continued. "And I don’t want to just go back to our normal boring lives tomorrow."
"Then what do you suggest?" Mohit asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ronny’s lips curled into a mischievous smile. The same smile that had led them into countless adventures before.
"A road trip."
Silence. Then, chaos.
"You’re kidding." Aman blinked.
"Are you serious?" Gourav asked, already grinning.
"Damn right I am." Ronny leaned forward. "Think about it—just like old times. No rules, no responsibilities. Just the open road, good music, and us."
"You do realize we have jobs, right?" Shivam pointed out.
"And responsibilities?" Vicky added.
"And actual lives to live?" Mohit smirked.
Ronny shook his head. "You guys sound old. Where’s the fun? The madness? The energy that made us who we were?"
The group exchanged glances. Something about Ronny’s words struck a chord.
"I mean... how long are we talking?" Aman finally asked, curiosity creeping into his voice.
"A few days," Ronny shrugged. "Just enough to feel alive again."
The hesitation in their eyes wavered. One by one, the idea started sinking in.
Shivam was the first to crack. "Alright, fine. I could use a break."
"Me too," Gourav grinned. "Besides, who else is going to keep you idiots entertained?"
"Count me in," Mohit nodded.
"If everyone’s going, I guess I can’t say no," Vicky smirked.
All eyes turned to Aman—the final piece of the puzzle. He exhaled dramatically. "I swear, you guys are going to be the reason I lose my job."
Ronny’s smile widened. "So that’s a yes?"
Aman sighed. "Yeah, it’s a yes."
---
As they left the café that night, the road trip wasn’t just a plan anymore. It was real.
And maybe, just maybe—this wasn’t just about a trip. Maybe this was about finding something they had all lost along the way.
A chance to be those reckless, fearless boys again.
A chance to rewrite the past in their own way.
And for Ronny—a chance to feel like himself once more.
