I looked down for a moment, thinking if I should deny it or just let them think that. I don't want people to believe a lie.

"Sai, don't be harsh to her. I'm the one who picked her so please be considerate. The other applicants applied because they like you or Kylo. But Hope? She's difderent," Beatrix explained.

"Really?" He sarcastically asked.

I gave them an awkward smile. I didn't want to argue anymore. Maybe I should really tell them the truth.

"Stop it, Sai. It's for the team. Don't forget that you're the captain," Kylo said. He's the one who asked what's up earlier, the outstanding one.

"Fine. Let's start practicing," he walked towards the court and his teammates followed him.

"I'm sorry, he's just in a bad mood. Sai is actually a nice guy," Kylo apologized before catching up to his teammates.

I should be the one to apologize, though. Sai was right in everything he said earlier.

Beatrix explained my work while the team was practicing. I feel sorry for her. I don't plan on staying but she gave her time and effort explaining to me.

"Alright, that's all you need to know. You can leave for now and just come back later for the party," Beatrix said.

"Party?"

"It's my last day and your first day on the team. Don't worry, it's on Kylo. You'll come, right? The venue is at the 'Meeting Place'. It's not that far away from here."

I'm supposed to study later but since it's her last day, maybe I should come. It's been a while since I last attended a party. I am realy a busy person.

"You should come. It's alright to take a rest for a while," I looked at Kylo. It seems like they're on a break. He's really good-looking. He's already sweaty but still handsome. It's unfair. How can a guy standing beside me be this handsome when I'm not that beautiful?

"Sure. See you later!"

After leaving the gymnasium, I attended my classes. I was stressed because we have a quiz in every subject. It's normal since I'm in med school but I still can't keep up. Now, I'm not sure if I chose the right career. They say the first and second year in med school is not that hectic but look at me, I can't even eat a full meal.

I contacted Myne afterwards. She told me that she's in a café nearby so I went there. How I wish I can be like her, chilling at a café at this hour.

"I'm sorry, Myne. I didn't have the time to. read what you prepared. A lot of things happened. I met the handsome team captain before Beatrix introduce me to the team and he doesn't like me even if I paid for his water. I don't get him at all. Thank God, there's this good-looking guy named Kylo who's kind enough to stop Sai from humiliating me and--"

"Hope, calm down."
