Season 1, Episode 5: Ugo Must Pay
The Morning After
Blessing barely slept that night. Every time she closed her eyes, she felt Ugo’s hands on her, heard his disgusting voice in her ears. By morning, her eyes were swollen from crying.
Ebere, Sandra, Kemi, Tolu, and Amaka sat around her, their faces serious.
"We have to report him," Michael said, standing near the door. He had stayed with them all night, making sure Blessing was okay.
Blessing hesitated. "If I report him, people will talk. They will say I asked for it because of how I dress."
Sandra slammed her hand on the table. "So? That boy nearly raped you, and you want to keep quiet?"
"But if we report him, what if he denies it?" Kemi asked. "We don’t have proof."
Michael adjusted his glasses. "We don’t need proof. If we all stand together, the school will take it seriously."
Ebere sighed. "I say we teach Ugo a lesson first."
The girls turned to her.
"How?" Amaka asked.
Ebere smiled darkly. "We set him up. Make sure he feels what he did."
Setting the Trap
That afternoon, Blessing sent Ugo a message:
"I want to see you. Come behind the library by 8 PM."
Ugo replied immediately. "I knew you would change your mind. See you there, baby."
Blessing clenched her fists. He was going to regret this.
Revenge Night
At exactly 8 PM, Ugo arrived at the dark corner behind the library, wearing a fake smile.
"Blessing, my baby," he said, licking his lips. "I knew you wanted me."
Before he could take another step, Michael and two other boys—Tunde and Femi—jumped out.
"Who be your baby?" Michael asked.
Ugo’s eyes widened. "W-Wait, what’s going on?"
Tolu stepped forward. "You like forcing girls, abi?"
Before Ugo could run, Sandra kicked him hard in the stomach.
"AHH!" Ugo fell to the ground.
"You think say you go touch our friend and go free?" Ebere hissed, stepping closer.
Femi grabbed Ugo’s phone and smashed it on the ground. "This one na warning."
Then, Michael bent down and whispered in Ugo’s ear, "If you try this nonsense again, we go make sure you never walk again."
Ugo nodded quickly, shaking in fear.
Blessing took a deep breath and stepped forward. She bent down, looked into Ugo’s eyes, and said, "If I ever see you near me again, I will destroy you."
Then she stood up, turned, and walked away.
Ugo lay on the ground, too afraid to move.
The fight was not over, but that night, Blessing finally felt free.
