Emily's Dark Encounter

Emily's Dark Encounter

The meeting

On that early morning, the golden rays of the sun shone with a radiant and dazzling brilliance, blinding anyone who looked at it. As our heroine, Emily, walked her daily routine path, she suddenly stopped. In front of her stood an eerie, perilous, macabre, and abandoned-looking house. She thought to herself, "This wasn’t here before."

Curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to go home and bring the necessary equipment for her exploration of the house. When she came back, she now had in her possession a flashlight, a notepad, and a pen. Hesitating at the edge of the path, Emily looked over her shoulder, her heart racing. She took a deep breath, silencing the voice in her head that begged her to turn back, and started down the pathway leading to the front door of the ridiculously large house. She knocked, but as expected, no one answered. She stood there for a minute, doubts pouring in, but she ignored them and went inside.

SLAM!

The door behind her slammed shut as soon as she entered. Emily quickly turned around and tried to open the door, but her efforts were futile. She stopped after a few minutes and told herself, "It's normal, it's normal for an abandoned house door to close shut, unexpectedly." Those words helped her continue the exploration. She put on her flashlight and started looking around. Everything was dirty and disgusting. Cobwebs adorned the corners of the ceiling, and the air was thick with the scent of mold and decay.

As she peered inside a room, she felt a chilling sensation of being watched. She turned around to check and, in the corner of the room, standing there was an eerie, illuminating figure, its face obscured. Emily's scream echoed through the empty house, but to no avail. She backed away, the figure moved forward. She backed away again, and it continued to follow until she was backed up against the wall. She pointed her flashlight at it, but it suddenly just stopped working.

The figure was emotionless, like a statue you would see at a museum. It brought out a knife and said, "Don't you know it's rude to enter someone else's house without their permission?" Its voice was cold and devoid of any emotion. Emily screamed once again, tears welling up in her eyes, pleading for her life to be spared. "I’m sorry! Please spare me! It will never happen again, you will never see me again! I beg of you..."

The figure just smirked and killed her, stabbing her over and over again, several times until it felt satisfied. Her last words being "Forgive me."

Emily jolted awake, panting and gasping for air. She found herself in her bed inside her room. Sitting up, she pinched herself, confused but relieved. She thought to herself, "A nightmare...?"

Emily tried to calm herself down, but the vividness of the dream lingered. Every detail felt too real to be merely a figment of her imagination. She glanced around her room, ensuring everything was as it should be. Her heart slowly began to settle, but the memory of the ghostly figure and its cold voice remained etched in her mind.

Despite the reassurances she gave herself, Emily couldn't shake the feeling that the nightmare was more than just a dream. It felt like a warning, a premonition of something sinister lurking just beyond the veil of reality. She lay back down, hoping for sleep to reclaim her, but the unsettling sense of dread kept her awake for the rest of the night.
