His plan to control my life didn't please me at all.

Who does he think he is? We simply had sex one night, and yes, apparently we're married. But that doesn't give him the right to make decisions for me!

I'm a grown woman perfectly capable of deciding things for myself.

As I was walking down the campus hallway, insulting Alexei in my mind, a voice brought me back to reality.

A voice I knew perfectly well, it was Paul, my damn cheating boyfriend.

"Lauren..." His voice, although it was barely a murmur, was more than enough to make me stop, I turned and there he was, looking miserable and repentant. "You didn't answer my calls, or messages..." He spoke sadly and I let out a scoff. "Oh? Why could that be, huh?" I commented sarcastically. "Oh, right, I think it was because I saw you having sex with Kate." I reminded him and he lowered his head as if he were a scolded puppy.

"I swear it's not what you think." He whispered and I rolled my eyes. "I don't need to think anything, because I saw it with my own eyes, Paul." I crossed my arms, while observing him with disdain. "Five years, we were together for five years and you had the nerve to sleep with my supposed best friend on our anniversary." He averted his gaze from me, feeling ashamed. "You lied to me saying you had to work, and you even had the nerve to make a romantic dinner for her, your fucking lover." I spat with contempt.

"The dinner was for you..." He murmured. "But she arrived out of nowhere, she was drugged and came on to me." He tried to explain himself, but only sank even further. "It was only once, baby, I swear."

"Oh? So she came on to you in a state of unconsciousness? Because while she was riding you, I saw her very sane." I declared sarcastically.

He bit his lower lip with frustration, finally accepting what he did.

"Okay, yes, we both knew what we were doing and we weren't under the influence of any substance." That revelation, although I already knew it, hurt to hear. "But it was only once..." He repeated. "I'm a man, Lauren, and Kate is so beautiful that I couldn't resist." He tried to approach me, trying to touch my face. "But I love you, you and only you."

I lost it when I heard those words, once again, I kicked his balls.

He fell to the ground, crying in pain, the people around us laughed; while others recorded the scene.

"Love? A cheater like you will never know what love is. Never come near me again, Paul Green, it's over." Without saying anything else, I walked away from the place, walking towards my classroom.

I arrived at the place and took my usual seat, my friends greeted me with an empathetic and uncomfortable look.

"What's wrong?" I inquired, I wasn't in the mood for nonsense and if they were liars too, I would send them to hell.

"We heard, you know..." Lisa began, scratching her hair. "We heard that Paul and Kate betrayed you." Jenna completed the sentence that Lisa couldn't finish.

I frowned.

"How can you know? I didn't tell you, or did you already know that that bitch was betraying me?" I inquired, furious and both denied.

"Last night, in the university forum, an anonymous account uploaded a sex video. The people in the video were Paul and Kate, sleeping together. Nobody knows who uploaded the video, but everyone knows that they betrayed you." Jenna informed me.

"I heard rumors that Kate and Paul are going to be sanctioned for uploading a video like that, but it's not certain that they did it." Lisa said.

I let out a bitter scoff.

"Well, let them both be expelled." I commented without giving it importance. "I don't think it's possible, since Kate is the daughter of a businessman who always pays for the things his daughter does." Jenna complained.

And speaking of the devil, we saw Kate approaching our table.

She's so typical, a very short white dress that shows off her fat ass. With matching neckline and heels. Too much makeup for my taste.

Now that I think about it, I should have realized the signs. Since Paul always complimented Kate when we were together. He always said things like:

"Oh, Kate is so beautiful"

"All her clothes fit her perfectly"

"Kate smells delicious"

"Kate is so funny"

Even when I bought the same garment as Kate, he never said that about me.

I didn't care that I thought it was great that my boyfriend and my best friend got along, how stupid I was.

The three of us observed her with disgust and she crossed her arms in front of me.

"We need to talk." She said, ordering me to go with her, I rolled my eyes without giving her the pleasure. "I don't feel like it." I replied without further ado.

She scoffed and leaned on my table.

"I want you to break up with Paul, you saw him last night, he doesn't love you. He's been flirting with me for months and last night we finally consummated our love." She communicated, proud of being the other woman.

"They consummated their affair, because you're a cheap one-night stand." Jenna mocked, earning a look of hatred from Kate.

"I'm not a whore." She defended herself. "I'm the woman Paul loves, I'm beautiful, I have money, I'm sexy and, most importantly" She caressed her belly. "I carry in my womb the fruit of our love." She smiled, causing my insides to fill with anguish and hatred, but I remained calm.

"Aha, you had sex with Paul once and you're already pregnant? I think someone needs a sex education class." I mocked and her face turned red with rage. "And the funniest thing about this is that she thinks Paul would be so stupid as to leave her pregnant."

"I think it's adorable, not only is she stupid, but she thinks Paul is going to stay with her just because she has a supposed bastard in her womb." Jenna mocked.

"Should we tell her that Paul came to beg you to come back to him, just a few minutes ago, Lauren?" Lisa intervened, with a malicious smile.

Kate watched us with disbelief and hatred, before running out of the place.

The three of us saw her flee and burst out laughing at the sight of said scene.

"Anyway..." Both turned to see me. "Now, tell us the truth, how do you feel?" Lisa said, with concern.

I sighed, while resting on an elbow on the table in front of me.

"How should I feel? I saw my boyfriend, with whom I shared a relationship of five long years, being unfaithful to me with my supposed best friend." I commented bitterly.

Jenna frowned, giving me a blow to the back of the neck.

"It happens to you for being stupid." She remarked. "We've always told you that that bitch wasn't a true friend and you didn't want to believe us." She crossed her arms, annoyed by how stubborn I was in the past.

Which was true, they always told me to be careful with Kate, since she didn't really act like a good friend.

I didn't want to believe them, since I've known Kate since we were children and I thought they were just jealous.

I would never have imagined that the one I considered my friend, was sleeping with the one I considered the love of my life.

"I guess you're right." I sighed, cutting my eyes, it was then that I heard them gasp, I looked up and both were observing the diamond on my ring finger. "Damn..." I tried to hide it, but it was too late. "Who the hell gave you that ring, Lauren?" They inquired in unison.
