The girl’s violet eyes widened as she recognized the horns atop his head. Panic set in, and she began to sob. “Go away, demon! Don’t eat me! I’m a good child!”

Kaiden blinked, momentarily stunned. Then, with a scoff, he reached into his tattered pocket, pulling out a small piece of stale bread. “Demons don’t eat elves, you idiot. Here, take this.”

Hesitant yet starving, the girl grabbed the bread, drooling as she devoured it. Kaiden watched her with amusement. “No one's going to steal it from you. Eat slowly, or you’ll choke.”

Once she finished, she wiped her mouth and looked at him with newfound curiosity. “Thank you, Mr. Demon. You’re not as bad as the others. What’s your name?”

“Kaiden.”

“I’m Silvy!”

From that moment, an unbreakable bond was formed.

Kaiden and Silvy became inseparable. They survived the war together—Silvy, an aspiring alchemist and conjurer, and Kaiden, a warrior who, though unable to fully control his rare dark-element magic, wielded immense potential. Their hardships forged them into skilled fighters.

With the demons driven back, humanity turned against the elves, unleashing their ancient weapons in a devastating attack. The elven army, already weakened, suffered catastrophic losses. Betrayed and overpowered, they had no choice but to flee the battlefield.

In the chaos, Kaiden managed to reunite Silvy with her people. As they parted, she clung to him, tears streaming down her face. “No matter what happens, if you ever need me, you will always be welcome. I swear it.”

The First Great War ended with humanity’s victory. Some called it a brilliant strategy, others, a shameless betrayal. Regardless, the demons were left broken, their armies crippled, their strongest warriors dead.
