Raine sat on the window sill with his legs hanging outside the castle dangling in the air, his body bathing in moonlight and his eyes fixed up staring at the sky,. He could still taste the queen's blood on this tongue. The excitement of his heart beat in his chest repeatedly clashing against his chest feeling the warmth of her blood running thru this veins. He reflected this day slowly as it engraved into his skull as the smell of blood entwined into the wind. Exciting the hair on his arm, he ignored the scent knowing never to taste a drop of human. The wind brushed against his skin while his gaze got lost into the stars. He smiled admiring the beauty of the stars. "Beautiful Night Indeed" He whispered softly to himself.
Stars began to move into a fast motion across the night sky as the shooting stars began to consume the sky into tears. Raine smiled wildly while he watched the stars fall out of the sky. He thought to himself wondering where will they all land. How far will they travel before they their resting place. He lifted his left hand reaching out to try to catch one of the many shooting stars into his hand. The sky lit even more brightly even more as a shooting star moved across the sky and crashed into the forest outside the castle. Raine turned his head to the sky staring into the direction of the shooting star. He jumped out of the window landing softly touching the ground with his left hand as she stood up straight and ran his right hand through his black curly hair.
He stared towards the forest far into the distance and began to run towards it. He dashed past the guards and crashed into a few people mumbling a soft sorry to each person as he swayed his head into the air. He continued to run in his full speed feeling the wind entwined against his body as he passed human bodies chained to walls with their blood dripping onto walls. He took one big breath as his fangs drilled into his gums while he continued to run forward not watching where he was landing as he crashed into a guard standing post outside the walls of the Verilin. Raine let out a heavy breath staring at the guard. Sighing in disappointment for crashing into another person on his way out here he simply smiled at the guard as the guard shook his head in silence and stand back on his post ignoring Raine, not even bothering or wanting to know why he was out there at this time of night
.
Raine began to run again heading inside the forest and began to walk slowly at the trees and touching the thick barks of the trees. He sniffed the air trying to pick the scent of burning trees or leaves in the air. He nothing… but he continued to walk deeper in the forest, knowing that what he saw actually had fallen into this very forest. Raine kept walking deeper into the forest as he felt a sudden change in the temperature of the forest but it doesn't bother him and he continued to walk further into the forest until his head crashed into an ice pillar making him flinch with pain, "AH!" he screamed out rubbing his head shaking off the pain. he was startled and slightly shocked to see the ice pillar in which he had crashed his head. He stared at it wondering what it was doing in the middle of the forest. "This couldn't be the falling star that fell from the sky." Whispered Raine. He touched it with his hands trying to feel how cold it is, but it began to glow brightly as he noticed white feathers inside the ice block. Raine began to walk around the ice pillar trying to get a better look at what was inside it!
A chain of questions started to from within his head. What is this? Where did it come from? What is in it? Who is in it? He stared at it for a while canning it all the way up and down, but didn't see anything about it that could help him. Raine let his fingers trace along the ice block and turned back staring deep into the forest and a feeling kept lingering in his mind that there is someone else there beside him and the ice pillar. Then he began to wonder how the feathers would feel between his fingers and how they will be. He continued to wonder wanting to see what is there deep inside that icy pillar.
"I wonder if I should just punch it and it will creak open" He said to himself, but he quickly tried to pick up a feather first with the thought that all the feathers would be blown away later and he would never be able touch it, he would never to hold it in his hand. He smiled and simply whispered, " I finally caught myself a shooting star." he laughed to himself and again ran his hand through his hair. He took a moment to think , but all that kept popping up in his head was to punch the icy pillar with his hands to break it open. Raine sighed softly looking up at the sky as the night continued to be consumed by the shooting stars.
He took a step back and examined the ice pillar for the last time. His left arm moved behind him curling his left hand into a fist he put all his energy and power behind his fist punching it. His right arm moved behind him forming into a fist as he put his energy and power behind it punching the ice pillar. He bit his lips holding out the scream due to the pain echoing throughout his body. Raine kept punching the ice pillar even though he could feel the flesh on his knuckles pulling off. He bit his lips even harder and continued to punch the pillar and his hand began to bleed. He kept enduring the pain wishing for the ice pillar to shatter with his each punch, so he could finally touch the white feathers. Raine didn't really question his own conscience that why he wanted to touch those feathers this much. All he knew was that he just wanted to and somehow he just has to break this ice pillar down. He kept punching the ice pillar with all this might until finally hearing the the cracking sounds of ice and forming small creaks in it echoed through the forest.
The icy pillar began to form creaks and then shattering into pieces. Raine stepped back watching as the pieces fell in front of him and he began to notice those feathers were the part of a wing. The pure white began to open removing the rest of the ice of the wings . Raine stood there startled looking at the wings wide eyed and then he gaze moved from the wings and his eyes began to fall on a girl. "A girl!" shock and confusion filled him to the core and he started to wonder what was that! The pure white wings slowly stopped moving and the girl fell to the crumble of ice on the ground. Raine rushed towards her held her and turned the girl to check if she was alive. He stared at her pale cream skin slowly and looked at her face as her grey hair slowly started to turn black. Her pure white wings disappeared. Raine who was lost in her extraordinary beauty forgot his real goal of breaking the ice pillar. He picked up the girl and carried her in his arms. Just as he was about to go away from there he saw a white feather under his feet. He eased the girl on the ground once again just to pick up and slide the soft beautiful enticing feather into his back pocket and then he picked her up again and carried her towards the castle.
