#5 The Emerald City

As Elphaba stepped inside the classroom, she was immediately struck by the sheer scale of the room. The ceiling was high and vaulted, and the walls were lined with towering shelves that seemed to stretch up to the heavens. The shelves were packed with ancient tomes and mysterious artifacts, each one emitting a faint hum of magical energy.

At the front of the room, Professor Milgo stood behind a large, ornate desk. He was an imposing figure, with a wild shock of white hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed to bore into Elphaba's very soul.

"Welcome, Elphaba," Professor Milgo said, his voice booming across the room. "I have been expecting you. You have a certain... reputation, you know."

Elphaba felt a surge of pride and confidence at the professor's words, but she was also a little intimidated. She had never met anyone like Professor Milgo before, and she wasn't quite sure how to react.

"I am very much honored to be here, Professor," Elphaba said, trying to sound confident.

Professor Milgo smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"I think you will find that my classes are not for the faint of heart, Elphaba," Professor Milgo said. "But I also think that you will find them... very much enlightening."

And with that, Professor Milgo began to lecture, his words pouring forth in a torrent of magical theory and practical application. Elphaba listened, entranced, as the professor explained the intricacies of spell-casting and the secrets of magical energy.

As the lesson wore on, Elphaba found herself becoming more and more engaged. She had never been particularly interested in magical theory before, but Professor Milgo's enthusiasm was infectious. She found herself asking questions and participating in the discussion, her confidence growing with each passing minute.

Finally, after what felt like hours, the lesson came to a close. Professor Milgo smiled at Elphaba, his eyes twinkling with approval.

" I didn’t think I could say this but well done, Elphaba," Professor Milgo said. "You have a natural talent for magic. I think you will do very well in my class."

Elphaba beamed with pride, feeling a sense of accomplishment that she had never felt before. She knew that she still had a lot to learn, but she was excited for the challenge.

As she left the classroom, Elphaba felt a sense of wonder and excitement that she had never felt before. She knew that she was on the verge of something truly special, something that would change her life forever.
