back to story ......

As the months passed, Aiden's life became a whirlwind of pleasure and pain. Lucien was both his savior and his tormentor, pulling him into a world of darkness that he could never escape. But as much as he tried to lose himself in the demon's embrace, he couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that lingered in his soul.

One night, as they stood on the rooftop where it all began, Aiden turned to Lucien, his heart heavy with regret. "I can't do this anymore," he said, his voice trembling. "I can't keep living like this."

Lucien's golden eyes narrowed, his smirk fading. "What are you saying, darling?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.

"I want out," Aiden said, his voice firm despite the fear that gripped him. "I want my soul back."

Lucien's lips curled into a cruel smile. "You think it's that easy?" he asked, his voice dripping with malice. "You made a deal, Aiden. You belong to me."

Aiden's heart raced, but he stood his ground. "I don't care," he said, his voice shaking. "I can't keep living like this. I want my life back."

Lucien's eyes burned with anger, but beneath the surface, Aiden thought he saw a flicker of something else—something almost like regret. "You're a fool," Lucien spat, his voice filled with venom. "You'll never be free of me."

Aiden's heart ached at the words, but he knew he had to try. He had to fight for his soul, even if it meant facing the wrath of a demon.

"Maybe not," he said, his voice steady. "But I have to try."

Lucien's eyes softened, and for a moment, Aiden thought he saw a glimmer of something human in them. "You're a stubborn one, aren't you?" Lucien said, his voice surprisingly gentle.

Aiden nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "I have to be," he said. "For my own sake."

Lucien sighed, his golden eyes meeting Aiden's. "Very well," he said, his voice filled with resignation. "I'll let you go... but know this, Aiden. You'll always be mine."

Aiden's heart ached at the words, but he knew it was the best he could hope for. He had made a deal with the devil, and there was no escaping the consequences.

But as he walked away from Lucien, he felt a glimmer of hope. He had fought for his soul, and that was something no one could take away from him.
