Author's POV:
In a middle of a dark room, a girl was folding her clothes sitting on the bed. The decoration of the room was simple, minimal. A simple, wooden bed frame in a honey oak hue was dressed in white linen sheets and a cozy, light gray throw at the foot. The room was filled with the light scent of jasmine or lavender, delicate and soothing, woven through with the subtle sweetness of vanilla. The bed was filled with clothes and a beautiful girl in her mid 20s was packing her suitcase.
The room was quiet, but there was a hint of warmth to it due to the small paintings, flower vase, and some colours. Those things added a life to the stillness in the room.
*ring* *ring* *ring*
Suddenly the silence in the room was disturbed by the ringing of the phone. The girl in the bed was startled by the ring.
The girl slightly lifted her eyelids adorned with long, thick lashes like delicate feathers revealing a brown honey like eyes which carries a gentle warmth that seemed to soften the world around her, as if her gaze could calm the storms in even the most restless hearts. But, at that time the warmth in her eyes was replaced by slight irritation.
She straightened her back and her silhouette appeared like a shadow against the dim light, a darkened figure framed by the faint glow spilling through the window. With a delicate movement, she reached for her phone, the soft curve of her hand illuminated by the pale light that bled in from behind the glass.
The glow from the phone screen cast a soft, almost ethereal light on her face, outlining the features in subtle contrast to the surrounding darkness. The sharp angles of her silhouette stood in stark relief against the mysterious haze outside, her figure appearing both ghostly and present, as if caught in a quiet moment between worlds. Her movements were fluid, almost dreamlike, as if the dim light had transformed her into something intangible, like a shadow caught in the stillness of time.
"Hello". She answered with her sweet voice possessing a softness that seem to wrap around you like a cozy blanket. It was bright, yet not brash with the kind of energy that made you believe in the best parts of life, even on the grayest of days.
A deep and gravelly voice of an old man could be heard from the other side of the phone, "Vivi, how are you girl?..... I heard that you are going there tomorrow."
When the girl named Vivi heard the voice, the irritation in her eyes dissipated and was filled with warmth, love, and respect. "Grandpa, I am fine. And Yes, I am going there tomorrow." She said with slight determination flashing in her eyes.
"Are you sure about it?" the old man asked.
"I cannot delay it anymore. I am ready now, Grandpa. Just wait for me to come back after finishing my work." she replied
"Be careful Vivi. The world may not always be kind, but you're stronger than you know---take care of yourself, always, for you carry a quiet strength that not everyone will see. Don't be scared." The old man suggested.
She chuckled and said, "Don't worry grandpa, I am a GIRL--GHOST IN REAL LIFE. I will not be scared. I will scare them."
Listening to this, the old man laughed and said, "yes yes, my dear, you are a GIRL. Take care." He hanged up the phone.
The girl's soft, delicate lips carrying a natural flush of color deepened when it stretched a little forming a small soft smile. Then, she put down the phone and again started folding her clothes.
The girl was none other than VIVIENNE FROST, last heir to the Frost family, and the only member alive. Her family was murdered years ago on her birthday.
The day should have been hers—marked with celebration, filled with the joy of life. But instead, it was shattered in an instant. As the sounds of laughter from her birthday faded into the background, the chaos erupted like thunderclaps, deafening and unrelenting. She could still feel the sting of her family's last words, the blood spilled, each drop soaking into the ground beneath her feet as the men loomed over them, relentless and merciless. They took everything—her father's protective arms, her mother's soft whispers, her sibling's laughter—and they left only a void.
Her heart, once full of hope and light, felt hollow now, as though a part of her soul had been ripped away, leaving only the cold emptiness where joy once lived. The weight of their violence pressed down on her chest, and even as the tears fell, they were like strangers to her, for there was no comfort in them, no relief. The world around her blurred into a haze, the scene seared into her mind, replaying over and over again: the faces of the men, twisted with cruelty, and the silence that followed, a silence so suffocating that it drowned out the screams of her heart. On that day, her birthday, the world she had known was obliterated, and in its place was a new, unbearable reality.
Vivienne's eyes were distant, unfocused for a short period of time. After thinking for some time, she started packing her clothes again.
"Wait for few days monsters...Ghost is coming..." she whispered.
