CHAPTER 4

SHADOWS

All of a sudden, we heard noises coming from upstairs. Everyone thought it was the wind If it was before I would also think so, but we had checked the whole house before and all windows and doors were closed. There was no way for the wind to do it. This meant only one thing someone or something was there. Now there was a new question, Who?

We listened quietly. The noise sounded like a ball hitting the floor. It seemed like someone was playing with the ball. But who in their right mind would play with a ball at a time like this.

Blake rushed upstairs. Although scared, we decided to follow him, but the sight in front of us was shocking.

The ball was moving by itself. We were scared silly. Suddenly the windows which were originally closed started opening and closing.

The sight we saw couldn't be explained in words. It was horrible. The shadow of a girl could be seen playing with the ball with the help of moonlight.

But no one was there. James told us to go downstairs. They seemed to be experienced hence we listened to them and went to the hall.

After some time they came back. They seemed like they went through something big because they looked tired and had wounds, but only kelvin had a big wound, others just had some scratches.

They explained to us about what happened. The shadow we saw before was of a child, a girl who died in this house. They don't know the details yet but from the investigation they did before coming here they are sure that it was a family of three and that we might encounter two more ghosts today who might be more powerful.

We all were frightened, well who wouldn't be?

No one can remain calm in such situations yet those 5 people were. They made it seem like there was no ghost, that this place was not haunted and everything was fine.

They told us to find a safe place and move around in a group of two or three, neither more nor less. We agreed.

Blake, Anna & Tim were in a group, James, my brother & I were in a group, Kelvin, Luke & Sofia were in the same group. They said that since it was the first time we encountered something like this, we should have someone experienced in dealing with things like this with us.

Then some noises were heard in the room which we thought was the kitchen. Sofia said that it was the sound of something being cut.

"It seems that the lady ghost is in the kitchen " It was Luke who spoke.

It was at this moment that we heard the sound of door opening . We turned backwards and saw, the main door which was closed was open. There was a shadow of a man at the door, suddenly it closed, the shadow disappeared.

We didn't know where it was, and it wasn't the worst because the noise in the kitchen stopped, the door leading to the kitchen opened.
