My Top Husband

Episode 1: A Collision of Fates

The city never slept. Neon lights flickered in the distance, cars honked impatiently, and the streets were alive with hurried footsteps. But Trip was lost in his own world, completely oblivious to the chaos around him. His fingers moved swiftly over the pages of his sketchbook, his pencil bringing life to a new character.

He was so engrossed in his art that he didn’t see the traffic light change.

SCREECH!

A black luxury car came to an abrupt stop, the tires skidding against the pavement. Trip stumbled back, his sketchbook nearly slipping from his grip. His heart pounded in his chest as he looked up—right into the furious gaze of the driver stepping out of the car.

The man was tall, broad-shouldered, and dressed in a sharp black suit. Everything about him screamed power and control. His jet-black hair was perfectly styled, and his piercing dark eyes locked onto Trip with an icy glare.

"Are you blind?" the man snapped, his voice low and firm.

Trip’s initial shock faded, replaced by irritation. "Excuse me?" he shot back, crossing his arms. "You almost ran me over, and now I’m the one at fault?"

The man’s expression didn’t change. "You weren’t paying attention. Walking into traffic while sketching is reckless."

Trip scoffed. "And speeding in the middle of the city isn’t?"

A tense silence followed. Pedestrians nearby whispered among themselves, but neither of them looked away from each other. Trip’s stubborn glare met Sanzo’s cold stare, neither willing to back down.

Then, to Trip’s surprise, Sanzo sighed and ran a hand through his hair, as if debating whether this conversation was even worth his time.

"Where are you headed?" he finally asked.

Trip raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

Sanzo gestured toward the street. "If you keep walking around like this, you’ll get yourself killed. Get in. I’ll drop you off."

Trip hesitated. This was weird. Who offers a ride to someone they almost hit? But at the same time… his apartment was far, and his feet were already aching from walking all day.

"Let me get this straight," Trip said slowly. "You nearly run me over, and now you’re offering to drive me somewhere? That’s either suspicious or stupid."

Sanzo’s patience was clearly thinning. "It’s an offer. Take it or leave it."

Trip studied him for a moment. The guy didn’t look like a murderer. More like a corporate overlord who fired people for breathing wrong.

Finally, he smirked. "Fine, Mr. Grumpy. But if you kidnap me, just know I’ll be the most annoying hostage you’ve ever had."

Sanzo didn’t even flinch. "Sanzo."

Trip blinked. "Huh?"

"My name," Sanzo said as he opened the car door. "It’s Sanzo."

Trip grinned as he slid into the passenger seat. "Well, Sanzo, looks like you just met your worst nightmare."

Sanzo shook his head as he started the car. "God help me."

As the car pulled into traffic, neither of them realized that this seemingly random encounter was only the beginning of something neither of them had expected.
