4. Dinner Time

After getting the ultimate shock, I came back to the reality and went inside. Mom and Selena, my sister was preparing dinner.

"What's special?" I asked even though I knew the answer.

"Our new neighbor is coming for dinner tonight." Selena answered.

"I have kept a dress for you in your closet, wear that." Mom said.

"A dress?" I asked with raised eyebrows.

"Yes, and you young lady don't even think of disobeying me today. This is very special dinner for your Dad and he wants to impress Mr. Stone."

"Why?"

"He came to know that Mr. Stone invests in businesses and help them grow. " She said as she passed some plates to me. "And arrange this on the table before going to your room."

I took the plates and arranged them on the table before going to my room.

I opened my closet to find a black lased dress. I removed it and went over to my full-length mirror to check the dress on me.

It was over my knees and from my it's size I knew it was going to fit like a glove. I feel so disappointed in my Mom, even after taking care of me for 18 years she still doesn't know that I don't like tight fitting clothes.

"Thank God it's black." I thought before going to take shower.

After 30 minutes I was finally ready. My hair was in natural waves, my face had only a little bit of makeup i.e. just my lip gloss and Mascara.

"They are here." Mom shout's as our doorbell rings.

I rolled my eyes at her enthusiasm and take final look at myself and go downstairs.

There was only Mr. Stone with a small bouquet of lilies.

"My wife and son are coming, I was so excited to meet my new neighbor's that I couldn't wait for them." He explained as we all laughed.

Dad was about to ask him to come inside when Mrs. Stone and the red horned devil arrived.

"Oh, here they are." Mr. Stone said waving at his family.

"This is my beautiful wife Cara and my Son Xander." He said as we smiled at them, well me just smiling at Mrs. Stone, who seems to love giving Hugs.

She hugged mom and selena then it was my turn for her bone crushing hug.

"Aww such a beautiful girl." She cooed as she gave me her bone crushing hug.

"Thank you, Mrs. Stone." I said shyly.

"Oh, dear call me Cara, Mrs. Stone makes me feel old." She said as she walks into our living room with her family.

"Have you met my Son Xander, I think you guys would become great friends." She chimes as Christine walks beside her giving me a smirk.

I just ignored his beautiful face and followed my mom into the kitchen.

Woah, wait a second, did I just say beautiful face? Eww, why would I even say that.

After all the getting to know each other moments we all were settled on the table for dinner.

As it is a circle table this is how we are sitting:

First there is Dad, on his left is my mom and on his right, is Mr. Stone - David, to David's right is my brother then is my sister then is Xander and then next to Mr. Devil is me and to my left is Cara, who insisted on sitting beside mom and me.

And this is how I am sitting beside Douchebag.

"So, Cassandra you have such a beautiful face, do you have a boyfriend?" Cara asks out of nowhere.

I chocked and watched her with wide eyes as I felt my cheeks turn pink.

"Oh, dear I didn't mean to do that." She says as she passes me a glass of water.

I took a sip from water to calm my beating hearts and reduce the warmness from my cheeks.

"No cara, I don't have a boyfriend." I said slowly after my dramatic scene.

"That's good." She mumbled and I'm sure I was not meant to hear that.

I just gave her a small smile and continued eating my food which looked more interesting now.

Then suddenly I felt a hand on my thighs which made me jump a little and again everyone's eyes were on me.

But I continued eating as if nothing happened and everyone went back to their own conversation.

"Take your hands off me." I gritted my teeth.

"What?" He smirked.

I took a deep breath to calm down and pushed his hands off me.

"Cass why don't you go and bring the dessert sweetie." Mom says and I disappear from the table within seconds.

I remove the pie and start cutting them when I felt a presence behind me. I didn't have to turn around to know who it was.

"Hmm smells nice." He says and comes closer to where I am standing.

"What are you doing Xander?" I finally ask him, turning around to face him.

"Nothing Babe." He says and stands way too close to me.

"Why are you here?"

"Umm, your mom invited us for dinner?"

"No, what are you doing in Kitchen?"

"Oh. Your Mom asked me to help you with the dessert." He says and takes the pie.

"C'mon now don't want them to keep waiting." He says and leave me alone in the kitchen.

I grab the plates and follow him to the dining room.

After having the dessert everyone agreed on having a movie night.

After cleaning the plates, we all gathered around the Television for the movie which was 'IT', obviously it was Mr. Devils choice.

I have already watched that movie thrice so I decided to go to my room.

"I'm going to my room, when they are leaving just call me." I said to Selene and quietly left the room.

I thought of calling Tessa but then I looked at the time, it was 10:30 and she might have gone to sleep, So I decided to read a book.

After few minutes of reading the book I got bored so I switched to music.

I lay on my bed and listened to some slow music then came my favorite song of the day 'Uptown Funk' which made my feet bounce so I started doing all the crazy steps and I was so lost in my dancing that I didn't even notice the person standing at my door.

"WOW."

"Oh MY GOD" I said breathily.

"That was.... incredible." He said amusement shining in his eyes.

He slides inside my room and closes the door.

"May I?" He asks as he sits on my bed.

I just stood like a statue and watched him.

"W... why are you here?" I ask

"Oh, I just came to give you Ice-Cream." He says and looks at the plate he was holding the whole time.

"Here." He extends the plated towards me.

I timidly take the plate and wait for him to leave.

"You can go now." I say as he doesn't make any move for leaving my room.

"Nah, I'm bored anyway with those oldies downstairs."

"So, you can go to your home."

"I don't think Mom have any plans of going back. We might have a sleepover."

"WHAT?!" I shout

"Jeez girl, I was just kidding. Gosh, my ears." He says as he rubs his ears.

"I'm sorry" I mumble.

"You know you are the first girl I have met who haven't tried anything on me. If it was some other girl from our school , I'm sure we wouldn't be talking now." He says suddenly.

I raise my eyebrow in a questioning way.

"I'm glad we are friends now." He says.

"Friends? You think we are friends?" I smirk and shake my head.

He looks at me with confusion.

"Dude, we are not friends. Just because we are neighbor and you came to my place for dinner, doesn't make us friends." I say

"You will never become my Friend, Xander and now can you please leave."

He looked kind of hurt from my words and I kinda felt guilty for saying those words but then suddenly his expression became cold. HGe stood up from my bed and left my room without saying anything.

Well that was odd.

And with that he left my life.......... Hah! Who am I kidding?
