Episode 21: A New Hero & Supernova 2 Begins Production
Episode Overview:
In this episode, Zara and Tunle decide to expand their creative empire by launching a new comic about Spider-Man—but this time, it’s Spider-Man Nigeria set in the futuristic yet gritty streets of 2025 Lagos. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Supernova 2 is in pre-production, but John Boyega won’t be returning as Logan Supernova. Instead, a new actor will take the role, bringing a fresh face to the character.
Plot of the Episode:
Spider-Man Nigeria – A New Comic is Born
After the massive success of Shadowborn and Supernova, Zara and Tunle want to take on something even bigger—a Nigerian adaptation of Spider-Man.
They create a brand-new Spider-Man character, Tunde Okafor, a 17-year-old Nigerian teenager living in Lagos who gains powers after an experimental nano-spider from a high-tech research lab bites him. Unlike Peter Parker, Tunde’s struggles are unique to Nigeria’s fast-changing landscape in 2025, dealing with:
Advanced AI-powered crime syndicates
Tech-enhanced criminals who use futuristic gadgets to terrorize the city
Government corruption and surveillance—he’s not just fighting villains, but also a system trying to control everything
Family expectations—Tunde’s parents want him to focus on school, unaware he’s secretly the hero of Lagos
The comic is gritty, action-packed, and filled with authentic Nigerian culture, from Pidgin English dialogue to Lagos’ chaotic traffic and markets.
Tunde Okafor’s Spider-Man Suit Design:
Unlike the classic red-and-blue suit, Tunde’s Spider-Man suit is black and red with gold accents, blending traditional African patterns into the design. His mask has a slightly futuristic visor, and his web-shooters are bio-tech enhanced, allowing him to shoot electrified webs.
Villains in Spider-Man Nigeria:
Black Scorpion – A former corrupt scientist who turned himself into a bio-enhanced villain with scorpion-like cybernetic claws.
Ghost Trader – A hacker and cyber-criminal who can manipulate digital infrastructure to control Lagos.
Oni-Man – A Nigerian billionaire with a supernatural mask that grants him powers but slowly corrupts his mind.
Zara sketches out the first volume of Spider-Man Nigeria in his notebook, excited to bring this fresh version of Spider-Man to life. They decide to publish it under Nova Film Studio and partner with a local Nigerian artist for the visuals.
Supernova 2 – A New Logan Supernova
With Supernova 2 now in the works, Zara and the team begin pre-production. However, John Boyega won’t be reprising his role as Logan Supernova. Scheduling conflicts prevent him from returning, and the team must find a new lead actor.
The New Actor Playing Logan Supernova
The role of Logan Supernova will now be played by Jordan Matthews, an upcoming African-American British actor who has starred in indie sci-fi films and action movies.
Jordan Matthews’ Appearance:
Height: 6’2”
Build: Athletic, muscular, but lean—built for agility and strength
Hair: Short, wavy black hair
Eyes: Deep brown with an intense stare
Skin Tone: Warm brown complexion
Voice: Deep and commanding, but with a smooth charm
Jordan brings a more serious, battle-hardened personality to Logan Supernova. His version of Logan is darker, more mature, dealing with the trauma of losing his adoptive parents and preparing for a larger war against Kael.
Supernova 2 Plot:
Logan, now 25 years old, has fully embraced his powers.
Kael, the villain from the first movie, has returned stronger than ever.
A new villain, Lady Vortex, emerges—she has the ability to manipulate time and space and is secretly working with Kael.
Stacy, Logan’s love interest, has gone missing, and Logan must uncover the truth behind her disappearance.
The movie introduces a new hero, Bee Girl (played by Zoe Park), who joins Logan in the fight.
As production begins, Zara and Tunle post behind-the-scenes content on YouTube and TikTok, giving fans an inside look at casting, costume designs, and stunt training. The hype for Supernova 2 is massive, but fans are nervous about the actor change.
Bloopers and Behind-the-Scenes Fun:
Jordan Matthews struggles with Logan’s fight scenes at first, accidentally missing a punch and hitting a stuntman. “Bro, I SWEAR that wasn’t on purpose!” he says, laughing.
Tunle and Zara’s Cameo – They appear as two scientists in the background of a lab scene, pretending to argue over equations while Logan walks past them.
Zoe Park (Bee Girl) improvises a scene, calling Logan “handsome” in the middle of a battle. The whole cast bursts out laughing. Jordan Matthews smirks and says, “Guess Bee Girl has a crush.”
Zara & Naomi – Relationship Growth
While working on Supernova 2 and Spider-Man Nigeria, Zara continues growing his relationship with Naomi. They have more personal moments, as Naomi helps him handle stress and reminds him to enjoy life outside of work.
One night, Naomi visits Zara at his studio, seeing him completely exhausted. She brings him food and tells him, “You need to rest sometimes, genius.” Zara smiles, appreciating how she keeps him balanced.
They talk about their future, and Zara admits he’s thinking about taking their relationship to the next level. Naomi laughs and says, “Let’s just finish this movie first, Romeo.”
End of Episode:
With Spider-Man Nigeria officially in development and Supernova 2 moving forward, Zara and Tunle’s studio is expanding rapidly.
However, with new projects come new challenges, and the pressure is on to deliver something incredible.
As the episode ends, Zara looks at his sketchbook, filled with ideas for future stories. He smiles, knowing that this is just the beginning.
