The whispers grow louder. The vision shifts.
Now she sees herself—but it isn’t truly her. It’s someone who looks like her, dressed in flowing robes, standing before a massive lion. The lion’s eyes gleam with the same golden fire as Yoongi’s.
Then, a voice. “You were always meant to return.”
Jimin jolts awake, back in the present, her body drenched in sweat. Yoongi is beside her, his grip firm on her wrist. His golden eyes burn with concern.
“You saw it, didn’t you?” he murmurs.
Jimin’s breath is uneven. “Saw what?”
Yoongi sighs, his expression heavy. “The past.”

The Truth About Yoongi’s Curse
Jimin and Yoongi sit by the stream as he finally reveals the truth.
“Centuries ago,” Yoongi begins, “I was a guardian of this forest, just as my ancestors were before me. The balance of magic depended on a bond between the guardian and a chosen soul—one who could channel the forest’s energy.”
Jimin listens, her fingers clenching the fabric of her dress. “And I was that soul?”
Yoongi nods. “You were my mate. My queen.”
Jimin’s breath catches. “But if I was meant to stay… why don’t I remember?”
Yoongi’s jaw tightens. “Because you died.”
A silence falls between them. Jimin’s heart pounds. “That’s not possible.”
Yoongi looks at her, his gaze unreadable. “You were taken from me. And when you died, the balance broke. The forest punished me, binding my soul to this place—forcing me to wait for you to return.”
Jimin shakes her head. “This… this doesn’t make sense.”
Yoongi reaches for her hand, his touch warm. “You don’t have to believe me, Jimin. But the forest does. That’s why it brought you back.”
She pulls her hand away, standing abruptly. “No. I can’t—I won’t—be trapped in a fate I don’t remember choosing.”
Yoongi stands as well, his expression unreadable. “You don’t have a choice anymore. The bond has already begun to awaken.”
Jimin’s chest tightens. She can feel it—the connection, the way the forest whispers to her, the way her heart betrays her whenever Yoongi is near.
But she refuses to accept it.
“I want to go back to my village,” she says firmly. “Take me back.”
Yoongi’s golden eyes darken. “That’s impossible.”
Jimin steps closer, her voice trembling with anger. “You keep saying that, but you won’t tell me why.”
Yoongi exhales sharply, then finally says, “Because if you leave this forest… you will die.”

Jimin refuses to believe Yoongi’s words. Furious and desperate, she decides to find her own way out.
That night, when Yoongi is distracted, she sneaks away. She moves quickly, her heart pounding as she follows the path she remembers from before.
But the forest resists.
Branches shift, paths change, the wind howls. The deeper she runs, the more the trees seem to whisper warnings.
Then, the ground beneath her shifts. Roots rise, wrapping around her ankles. Jimin gasps, struggling, but the vines tighten.
And then, she hears it.
A voice—deep, ancient, filled with a terrifying power.
“You belong to the forest. You cannot leave.”
Panic sets in. The air grows cold. Shadows swirl around her.
Suddenly, strong arms wrap around her, pulling her free.
Yoongi.
His golden eyes blaze with fury. “You never listen,” he growls.
Jimin is too shaken to argue. “The forest—it spoke to me.”
Yoongi’s grip tightens. “Now you understand.”
He pulls her close, his voice low but urgent. “I won’t let you die again, Jimin. Even if it means keeping you here forever.”
Jimin looks up at him, her heart pounding. For the first time, she sees it—the desperation in his eyes, the weight of centuries of loss.
And for the first time… she isn’t sure she wants to run anymore.

As Yoongi carries Jimin back, the forest stirs unnaturally. A strange darkness slithers between the trees, watching them.
A pair of glowing red eyes flicker in the distance.
A whisper echoes through the wind.
“She has returned… but not for long.”
