"Lost in Time, Found in Thought

Four weeks had passed, and Kavera carried on as it always did. The streets buzzed with life, the days melted into nights, and the world seemed to spin without pause. Yet, for Minsha and Abhinav, time had slowed to a crawl.

Neither had learned anything new about the other. Karav, their mutual link, had vanished to Pune on some family matter, leaving them with no way to bridge the gap.

They carried on with their routines, each determined to focus on their goals, but neither could shake the feeling that something—or someone—was missing.

---

For Minsha, the days began early, her mornings filled with books and study sessions. She worked hard, knowing her dreams required every ounce of effort she could muster. Her mother often popped into her room with snacks, reminding her to take breaks.

But no amount of focus could keep him from sneaking into her thoughts.

After every task, after every chapter read or note written, her mind drifted to that brief moment at the fountain. She thought about his warmth, the way he had looked at her, like she was the only person in the world.

In her mind, the scene played out differently. In her version, she didn’t walk away. She stayed. She asked for his name, his number—something to keep him from vanishing into the crowd.

And then, as she imagined herself standing beside him, maybe even holding his hand, her cheeks flushed.

“What’s wrong with me?” she muttered, covering her face with her hands. “This is ridiculous.”

But even as she scolded herself, a soft smile crept onto her lips.

---

Abhinav wasn’t faring any better.

His days were packed with meetings and projects, his evenings spent pouring over plans and charts. His father had always taught him the value of hard work, and Abhinav lived by that lesson.

But lately, even the most engaging tasks couldn’t keep his mind from wandering.

Every time he paused for a moment, her face appeared—those soft gray eyes, that silver scarf that had shimmered like moonlight. He could still hear her voice, the way she had said, “Let’s see what’s coming,” as if she’d been speaking directly to him.

He often caught himself staring out the window, wondering where she was and what she was doing. The thought of her made his chest tighten, a strange mix of longing and nervous excitement.

And then there were the daydreams.

In his mind, he pictured her sitting across from him at a café, laughing at some terrible joke he’d made. He imagined walking with her through the city, pointing out little things he thought she’d like. And sometimes, when his thoughts strayed too far, he pictured leaning in, brushing a strand of hair from her face, and—

“No, no, no!” he muttered, running a hand through his hair. He let out a nervous laugh, shaking his head at himself. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

---

The days passed, and they both tried to focus, to stay grounded. But every night, as they lay in their beds, the same thoughts crept back in.

Minsha would imagine what it would feel like to have someone beside her, someone who understood her quiet strength and encouraged her dreams. She’d picture him—Abhinav—smiling at her, his warmth chasing away her fears.

And when she thought about it too long, her cheeks would burn, and she’d bury her face in her pillow, whispering, “This is so embarrassing.”

---

Abhinav, meanwhile, couldn’t stop the small smile that appeared every time he thought of her. He’d laugh softly to himself, shaking his head as he imagined what it would be like to see her again.

He could almost hear her teasing him, almost feel the lightness that her presence seemed to bring. And every time he caught himself daydreaming, he’d let out a nervous chuckle and mutter, “You’re losing it, Abhinav.”

---

Despite the distance, despite the weeks that had passed, one thing was certain: they hadn’t forgotten each other.

And though they didn’t know it, they were both thinking the same thing:

If fate brought us together once, maybe it will again.
