Reflection

A loud thunder rumbling continuously. The room floor vibrate slightly that can be felt on a bare foot. Soon after, a crackling sound can be heard from the sky. Calista flinched and her heart thumping fast. It was a thunderstorm. She cup her hand over her both ears. She soon open her eyes slowly when she feels the rumbling sound subsided.

She collect herself and standing in front of the mirror with her hands cupping her ears.. she raised her eyes looking straight to the reflection on the mirror. She saw her image with a curious eyes with hands on her knees and slightly bend forward looking intently to her. She scream in shock and she felt a goosebumps all over her skin before she saw a black out.

"Calista.. Calista...." the sound felt too far to be heard. She try to open her heavy eyes slowly. She flinch to the light but soon after her eyes get used to it, she saw Alyse looking to her worriedly.

"What do you feel.. are you okay?" Alyse placed her hand on Calista's forehead. Calista nod and she recalled of what she saw before she faint. She shot up and sit on her bed abruptly. She peek to the wall behind Alyse where the old mirror were placed. But there's nothing to see.

"What is it..?" Alyse frown and turn her head. "I took it out already" she said with soothed eyes. "Are you scared? that was an old mirror.. who bring it here? did you ask Hermen to placed it here?" Alyse hit her with a various question that shock her even more.

"Calista.. is everything okay?" Alyse start to panic when she saw her face turn pale and her eyes out of focus. She check her temperature again only to found it was normal. She give her a glass of water and lay her on her bed. "Now, how you feel?" Calista smile "I think I am fine" She say and grab the nanny's hands. "Can you stay with me for a while?" She whine.

Alyse smile looking at her adorable behavior. She took care of her since she was born. She knew how much this child hurt by her parents lack of attension. She regard her as her own child. She is a brave girl and she was obedient one. She don't understand why her parents didn't stay here with her. They always busy to build up their carier and always leave her for a business trip. And finally, they decided to divorce two years ago without giving an acceptable reason. Since then, Calista always refuse to met them and become quiet.

"Tell me what happen.. I heard you scream after a loud thunder and faint.. you never scared of thunder before, are you?" she whispered to her. Calista hesitate but eventually tell her about the mirror and what she saw a minute before she faint. Alyse smile to her story and even she want to believe her she still doubt it.

"You know.. sometimes when we are stressed out, everything turn to be weird.. but I believe you know what you see and you know what you do.. isn't it?.." She look into her eyes and inhale deeply, she grab her hand and continued "..whatever it is.. its nothing to worry about." Alyse pat her hand and caress her head while convince her.

"What about the mirror.. you never bring it here right, do you?" She ask in doubt. Her eyes filled with anxiety. Looking at that, Alyse sighed heavily. "Well.. that old Hermen sometimes made a mistakes. He always move something and placed something that he even forgot where it belong. He must put it here unknowingly.. I have to ask him then but i moved it back where it should be.. don't worry.." She says helplessly.

Alyse stood up and tuck her bed. "Anyway.. I have told your father.. and he seems understand your situation. He say that he may back late tonight but he will see you tomorrow morning and want to have a breakfast together with you."

Calista listened to it and nod weakly. She turn her head slightly and pout. A tears flowed from her eyes. She don't know why but she felt hurt. Her parents rarely meet her. They always busy with god know what and leave her with the nanny and old butler. When she say that she didn't feel well, her parents seems okay with it and never ask why.
