Episode 4: An Uneasy Alliance

[Scene: Damian and Liana sit across from each other in the dimly lit café. The tension is palpable.]

Damian: [studying her intently] “You’re bold, I’ll give you that. But why should I trust you, Liana Everhart? Trust isn’t exactly your family’s strength.”

Liana: [smirking] “And yet, here you are, meeting with me. That says more about you than my family.”

Damian: [chuckling softly] “Fair point. But I still need to know—what do you bring to the table?”

Liana: [leaning in] “I know Alex better than anyone. His weaknesses, his ambitions, the skeletons in his closet. Rowena? She’s manipulative, but predictable. Together, they’re dangerous, but separate... they’ll crumble.”

Damian: [his expression darkening] “Alex has been a thorn in my side for years. He plays dirty, but he’s not smart enough to do it alone. If you can dismantle their alliance, I’ll consider working with you.”

Liana: [smiling slyly] “Consider? Damian, I’m not here to beg. We both know this alliance benefits you as much as it does me.”

Damian: [leaning back, amused] “You’re not wrong. Fine. Let’s see how far you’re willing to go.”

[Scene shifts: Liana returns to the Everhart mansion. Rowena is waiting in the living room, sipping wine.]

Rowena: [sweetly] “Liana, you’ve been out quite a lot lately. Busy with something... or someone?”

Liana: [calmly] “Just taking care of business. Why? Jealous?”

Rowena: [laughing lightly] “Of you? Don’t be silly. I’m just curious. You know how much I care about you.”

Liana’s stomach churns at the feigned affection, but she keeps her composure.

Liana: [smiling faintly] “Of course. You’ve always been... so caring.”

Rowena: [studying her] “Father mentioned you’re taking a more active role in the company. That’s... unexpected.”

Liana: [shrugging] “People change. Besides, isn’t it time I proved myself?”

Rowena: [narrowing her eyes slightly] “Just don’t overextend yourself, dear sister. Wouldn’t want you to get hurt.”

Liana meets her gaze head-on, her voice steady.

Liana: “I’ll keep that in mind.”

[Scene shifts: Damian’s private office, where his best friend, Ethan, joins him.]

Ethan: [raising an eyebrow] “So, you’re teaming up with Liana Everhart? That’s a bold move.”

Damian: [smirking] “She’s not the same woman she was before. There’s fire in her now. She wants revenge as badly as I do.”

Ethan: [leaning against the desk] “Still, it’s risky. What if she’s playing you?”

Damian: [coldly] “Then I’ll deal with her. But for now, she’s useful. Besides...” [his expression softens slightly] “I owe her.”

Ethan: [frowning] “For what?”

Damian: [dismissing the question] “It doesn’t matter. Just keep an eye on her. I want to know everything she’s doing.”

[Scene shifts: Late at night, Liana receives a message from Damian.]

Damian (text): “Meet me tomorrow. I have information you’ll need.”

Liana (text): “Be specific.”

Damian (text): “Alex’s secret accounts. Let’s talk.”

Liana’s lips curve into a satisfied smile. Damian isn’t wasting any time.

[Scene shifts: Rowena meets Alex in a private hotel suite.]

Rowena: [angrily] “You need to keep Liana in check. She’s getting too confident.”

Alex: [calmly pouring a drink] “Relax. She’s harmless.”

Rowena: [snapping] “She’s not harmless. She’s up to something, and if you don’t handle her, I will.”

Alex: [smirking] “You’re so paranoid, Rowena. Liana doesn’t have it in her to fight back.”

Rowena: [narrowing her eyes] “Don’t underestimate her. She’s not as naive as she seems.”

[Scene shifts: Liana sits in her room, staring at her reflection in the mirror.]

Liana: [softly] “Naive? Not anymore, Rowena. This time, I’ll be the one pulling the strings.”

Her eyes gleam with determination as the city lights are shining.
