Journey To The Mountain Of 13 Peaks (Part 1)

(They sold the necklace after they ran away to another town at a high price, now the story continues.)

"Woohooo!! We tricked the man successfully! That dumb, greedy merchant! I could barely hold in my laughter when I heard his screams. Aww poor man!"

said Menacy, laughing happily.

To this, Jade replied, "Yes, so now we have the money to travel, since we've already sold the necklace at a good price, let's get our horses and start the Journey."

"Alright then, let's find our rides for the Journey!"

The two continued walking some distance and they soon reached a stable. They stepped inside and called for the owner while looking for a good horse for themselves.

The owner came and asked, "Yes young misses, How may I help you?"

"We want to rent 2 horses for a journey to the Mountain Of 13Peaks," said Menacy.

"Yes, sure. Miss, will you choose a horse for yourself or Should I help you?" Said the owner, smiling.

"No thanks,We'll find a good horse for ourselves, a horse that fits best with us," replied Menacy.

With that, Menacy and Jade looked around. Jade chose a brown horse. The horse was very well built, brown shiny fur and tail, perfect height and it was a horse with a calm nature, just like Jade.

Menacy chose the black horse, strong looks, tall height and a lil angry by nature, but it'll turn into a good boy, if you pet it.

They gave the money to the owner and left with their horses. Since they were still in the town, they had a long way to go. It was midday, a hot afternoon. They bought all the necessary items that would be needed on the way. They finally set off for their journey.

On the way, they came across many such travellers whose destination was the Mountain of 13 Peaks. Some were nobles, some were middle class kids and some poor kids, all of them had the same fire of determination burning in their eyes.

Menacy was getting nervous. "Jadie, do you think we'll pass the first round without any problems?"

"Yes Menie, we'll pass for sure. Have the same confidence in yourself as you do when

you're scamming people."

With this, Jade chuckled. Menacy seemed to have relaxed after hearing her words. No matter how sly and clever they are while scamming people, both of them knew that they've never crossed paths with cultivation much, unlike those nobles who've always been under training and have been educated from a young age. They didn't have anyone to teach them anything, yet they knew quite a lot.

As they were riding the horses through the forest, they came across a group of nobles. Riding on their horses, while their servants were on foot, the nobles were surrounded by an aura of arrogance and pride.

"They look like bullies," whispered Menacy and looked at Jade. Jade just hummed.

While riding the horses, a few minutes later, suddenly a voice of a boy screaming in pain filled the silent woods.

Menacy and Jade looked at each other and went to the direction of the screaming voice.

They went further and finally reached the source of the voice. The nobles who Menacy called 'bullies' before actually turned out to be bullies. A poor looking boy was lying on the ground, his hands tied on his back and an arrogant noble man's foot crushing his nape.

They turned to look towards these two girls.

"What are you trying to do?" asked an angry Menacy.

"Its none of your business, if you want to live then, get lost," said the arrogant noble.

Jade gestured Menacy to leave, but Menacy won't just understand her gestures. Menacy has been bullied in the past as a kid a lot, so she can't hold herself back whenever she sees anyone being bullied. She looked extremely angry but her eyes showed fear, a never ending trauma, an endless pit of sorrow. She does not want those memories of her weak self come back. She can't stand herself being a weakling, she wanted to end it all as a kid, which was why she aims to become stronger than anyone else, to protect herself, her sister and all those people who are weak, bullied by the strong.

"I hate bullies. You are strong, so does that mean you can trample over the weak? You're strong, so does that mean you can do as you like?" Said Menacy, gritting her teeth, her aura overflowing with anger.

"Oh so you don't like bullies? Does that mean if I don't bully others, you'll like me?" Alright baby, I'll let this boy go if you are willing to satisfy me." The arrogant noble replied and winked.

Jade was already extremely allergic to winks, but now this man had crossed the limits. He not only just winked but also teased Menacy. He must have a death wish.

Jade rolled her eyes to his wink, then slowly walked forward and punched him with all her strength. Whoa!! Bravo! Our calm Jade, who had never lost her temper in the past, lost it thanks to the arrogant noble.

Menacy cheered internally and smiled. Jade said, "I don't give a sh*t to who you bully, but if its my sister, I won't spare you."

The noble was just punched by a Woman, a poor woman at that, in front of all his servants! He was outraged. He unsheathed his sword and walked towards Jade, the intention of killing clearly seen in his eyes.

Menacy had seen through his intent and shielded Jade before he could pierce his sword through Jade and he stabbed Menacy instead.

The noble was shocked and started stuttering, "You....You....Why did you...."

Jade didn't realize what happened for a second and the next second, Menacy suddenly collapsed, her abdomen bleeding.

Jade broke down in tears, she held Menacy in her arms.

"WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SHIELD ME??!! I WOULD'VE BEEN FINE! Now Menie, Don't close your eyes, okay? I'll treat you as fast as I can, Stay strong." said Jade. Her calm posture was all gone.

Menacy just managed to let out a weak 'Yes'.

Jade had never been so angered in her life before. Her eyes began to show the shade of red, strong winds started to blow, Jade's killing intent had risen to a hundred. The demonic aura started surrounding her, becoming more and more dense. The arrogant noble, his servants and all others were surprised and scared out of their wits! They had never seen such power, such aura radiating from a girl who, just a second ago looked so weak! They were so scared that they didn't even bother to look anywhere, the only thought on their minds was that if they didn't run now, they will surely die.
