Episode 13: "Eyes of Wrath"
Opening Scene: Hidden Cloud Retreat
The episode opens with the aftermath of the battle against the Hidden Cloud. Ryo’s powerful Windball Shuriken strikes the Raikage, delivering a critical blow. As the Raikage collapses, his forces retreat, carrying their fallen leader. The Hidden Leaf celebrates their hard-fought victory, but a lingering tension fills the air.
Riko’s Discovery
Later, during cleanup efforts in the village, Team 7 hears rumors about a mysterious man targeting Uchiha clan members and stealing their Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan. This man, Kurokan, is said to have been spotted near the outskirts of the Land of Fire. The Hokage orders Dan, Suki, and Team 7 to investigate.
Before they leave, Shirukaru is seen in the shadows, smirking. “Let’s see how strong you’ve become, Riko,” he mutters to himself.
The Truth About Riko’s Father
As they travel, Kurokan ambushes the group, his arms covered in embedded Sharingan eyes. One of his own eyes gleams with the Mangekyo Sharingan, a gift stolen from another Uchiha. Kurokan reveals the truth in a twisted monologue:
“I killed your father, boy. He was strong, but his arrogance was his downfall. I took his Mangekyo, and now his power belongs to me.”
This revelation sends Riko into a blind rage, his Sharingan evolving into the Mangekyo Sharingan, a crimson eye with a star-shaped pattern.
Battle Against Kurokan
The battle begins, and Kurokan proves to be a formidable opponent, using his stolen Mangekyo abilities:
Reality Bind: A technique that traps victims in a dream-like illusion where they can’t distinguish reality from fantasy.
Subjugation Command: A power that forces opponents to obey his commands.
Riko falls victim to Reality Bind, where he sees a peaceful world where his father is alive. He almost succumbs to the illusion, but his Mangekyo awakens fully, breaking the genjutsu with sheer willpower.
Dan fights valiantly, using his Eighth Gate Formation techniques to destroy Kurokan’s Sharingan-infused arms, but the injuries leave him unable to fight further.
Suki uses her Heavenly Sakura Form, deploying her 1,000 Jutsu to fend off Kurokan’s Mangekyo techniques, but she is nearly overwhelmed.
Riko’s Wrath
With his newfound Mangekyo Sharingan, Riko unleashes:
Amaterasu Flames: Black flames that burn everything in their path.
Curse Mark Stage 2: Riko transforms, sprouting brown wings, his long white hair glowing, and his curse marks amplifying his power.
He uses the Amaterasu Flames, but Kurokan extinguishes them using another stolen Mangekyo ability. Kurokan traps Riko in Tsukuyomi, a nightmarish illusion of eternal torment.
Breaking Tsukuyomi
In the illusion, Riko sees his father being murdered repeatedly by Kurokan. The pain nearly breaks him, but he remembers the bond he shares with his team and his promise to protect them. With sheer determination, Riko shatters the illusion, leaving Kurokan stunned.
The Final Blow
Riko channels his rage and activates Chidori Sword Slash, combining it with his Mangekyo Sharingan. With Suki and Dan supporting him, he strikes Kurokan, piercing his chest.
Kurokan, defeated and bloodied, smirks one last time. “You’re strong, boy... but this isn’t over. There are others like me... far worse.” He collapses, dead.
Shirukaru’s Observations
Watching from the shadows, Shirukaru mutters, “Interesting. His potential has truly awakened. It’s almost time for the next phase.”
Aftermath
The team returns to the village, where Riko is praised for his bravery. However, he is haunted by the truth about his father and the revelation that there are more threats targeting the village.
Meanwhile, the Hidden Leaf receives intelligence that the Hidden Cloud is regrouping under a new leader, vowing revenge.
