The more Jin walked further and inspected the condition of the houses, the more his brows furrowed. Poor water and electricity supplies, worn out houses, no trees or plants can be seen. They were just toxicities everywhere. Just how many people got sick and died here?
Qiuyue stopped in front of a house. She opened the door and walked inside. Jin also entered the house. He needed to bend down as the door was built low.
'Was this even a house?'
The furnitures were very few and old. There were no partitions except for the bathroom. No drawers for the clothes, only one light bulb, a single bed.
Jin had the urge to burn down the place. He went outside and made a call. He decided to wait for her outside. There were not many people but all who saw him were either stunned to their place or fearful that they ran inside their house. No one dared to look at him again!
After a short while, Qiuyue went out with a plastic bag. She only took their clothes and a bottle with the money she had saved for three years.
"Mr. Song." She respectfully called.
Jin turned around and saw her holding the things. "No need to bring your clothes." He ordered.
"Oh." She was stunned a bit. She quickly put the plastic bag inside, closed the door and locked it.
She was now embracing the bottle like it was her treasure. Well, it was indeed her treasure. She was saving the money for Huan.
"Let's go." He said. He started walking and Qiuyue followed behind. They entered the car and headed to his residence.
"What are you going to do with the money you are saving?" He suddenly asked as he looked at her.
Qiuyue's eyes lit up in excitement. She stared ahead. "I am saving it for my brother. I taught him how to read and write but I want him to study in a school and get diplomas. If it's overseas, it will be much better. Then he will be able to find a good job, find a wife, get married, have children and family. He will be able to live peacefully." She explained happily.
Jin, who had been looking at her, looked out the window. A light flashed across his eyes. He gazed at her again. "Hm. What do you want to do for yourself then?"
The smile in her face disappeared. Her eyes that were brimming with excitement became distant.
She wanted revenge but she will not be able to do it if Huan was with her. His life will be at risk too. She also did not know who to take revenge from but she would do anything in her own capabilities to get justice for her clan.
The more she thought about it and remembered the past, the more her eyes became cold and distant. She did not know that she was now holding the bottle and grasping it tightly deforming it.
Jin can sense the deep hatred and killing intent within her. He had an idea what she was thinking but it was not his place to ask or talk about it.
She suddenly loosened her grip on the bottle. She shook her head. She took a deep breath to calm her heart and mind. She looked out the window. "I just want my brother to be safe even when I am not around him anymore."
This was her resolve. As long as her brother was safe, she did not mind becoming a killer, a demon, a monster or whoever!
He patted her head and said nothing.
It was around 5 o'clock when they entered his residence. Qiuyue looked everywhere, her mouth agape. Everything was sparkling in her eyes. Their home in D City was an Ancestral Home that was mostly made of wood and had not been renovated into any modern facilities and technologies. Hence, Qiuyue was akin to a mountain person who went to a modern city for the very first time.
Qiuyue's reaction was not different with Huan's at all.
They went to a guest room where Huan had been waiting for them. When they walked into the room, Huan rushed towards his sister and began telling her of his astonishment. Qiuyue would only laugh and smile at his brother.
Jin assigned a butler to look after the two and asked him to educate them about the residence, how to use the facilities, etiquettes, and such. The butler also led them to their rooms. A maid was also tasked to get their body measurement so they can buy them new sets of clothing for them to wear.
"Sister, can we sleep together?" Huan asked.
"Young Master Huan, I am afraid you cannot do that anymore. Per our Master's instruction, you must learn how to sleep alone in your own room." The Butler patiently explained. Huan looked gloomy.
Qiuyue let out a bitter smile. She understood this very well. It just happened that they were alone, living together and only had one bed. She crouched down, put her hands on his shoulder. "Huan, we can sleep together today, but tomorrow onwards, you must sleep alone in your room. Okay?"
Huan reluctantly nodded. Qiuyue faced the butler then.
"If Young Miss Yue said so, then this arrangement today will naturally be done." He stated.
"Thank you, Mister." She respectfully said.
"Please stay in your room and I will ask someone to fetch you for dinner." The butler led them to Qiuyue's room, bowed and left.
Both wandered around the room one more time and their astonishment had still not drifted away. Qiuyue then asked him to sit on the bed. She sat beside him.
"Huan, we will live here starting today. I will work under Mr. Song. We do not need to eat buns anymore, sell them or go to D city to gather bamboo stems. You will do reading, writing and studying while I am away and working. Okay?" Qiuyue reminded.
"Sister, I understand." Huan said.
"Hm. You must behave and follow their instructions carefully. If they got mad at us, they may throw us away and we will return to our old house. Do you want that?" Qiuyue continued.
"No, Sister. I will behave and follow their instructions. I will also study very hard so that I can help you too." Huan promised.
"Alright. I will ask Mr. Song if he can lend us some books to read." Qiuyue patted his head.

In the Master's bedroom
Jin took a quick shower. He entered the Study and Wen was already there waiting for him. He poured himself a glass of wine. "How's the two?"
"Master, they are staying in Qiuyue's room per your instruction. They have been educated about the rules of the residence. Their first set of new clothes have been delivered as well." Wen explained.
"Hm. Refurbish the room opposite of mine and convert it into Qiuyue's room. Also, find a home tutor for Huan. Soon, he will move overseas to study." Jin instructed.
"Ye.. Yes, Master." Wen was stunned once more. 'Why is Master going too far for these two people? Did the sun finally rise from the west?'

The siblings were asked to take their baths and wear the clothes prepared for them. They were led to the dining area where Jin and Wen were waiting already.
Jin was a little surprised to see the changes in their appearance after they were attended by the maids. The siblings features were already remarkable, but he thought they looked more impressive.
Both were wearing casual clothes. Huan was wearing a blue shirt, a black shorts, and a black rubber shoes. His hair was trimmed a little. He looked very neat as if he came from a noble family.
Qiuyue, on the other hand, was wearing a light green, v-neck long sleeve dress, ankle length and a white sandals. Her hair was combed well and was draping behind her back. The skin below her neck was very fair completely contrasting with her face skin colour.
Jin cannot help but stare at her. Qiuyue truly looked like a beautiful maiden who will attract myriads of young men. Jin furrowed his brows at the idea.
The maids led the two to their respective chairs. The dinner was eaten silently. Huan just ate to his heart's content. Qiuyue felt a little awkward. She felt that their lives just made a complete 360 degree turn.
Being a young miss of the Wu clan, she was not uncomfortable with how they were served now but she was still trying to accept the drastic change in their lifestyle.
After dinner, Jin told Huan to rest in his sister's room while Qiuyue was asked to follow him to his study to discuss some matters.
