In the first line the poet is saying that one friend of him calls him from the road for a walk. His friend slows down his horse and waits for poet's reply which means that regardless of how much busy his friend is he has taken out some time from his busy schedule to have a chat with his friend. It also says us that when a friend wants to spend some time with us we should always cherish that time and should not wait until they are gone. Because who knows if this moment of our life welcome again or not. We should not wait till the end otherwise we will be the only ones who will regret about it till the last end of our life.
In the second line, though the poet is busy like his friend , he still responds to his greetings. Like that we should always help our friends whenever they need our help as they are important to us and that is how we prove true friendship! The poet also explains that we should also pay a visit to our friends whether we are free or busy so as to maintain the friendship between us and our friends.
In the third line the poet understands that this moment won't come again so he puts down his hoe on the ground ( stops his work ) and runs toward his friend.
In the fourth line the poet says that with a slow but a heavy walk he fullfills the wish of his friend ... Regardless of what time is it , whether he is busy or free , whether he is tired or not , he finally goes for a walk with his friend ! ❤️
