Episode 5: The Truth Begins to Surface
---
Scene: The Min Mansion – Morning.
Jimin sat at the breakfast table, her gaze fixed on the untouched tea in front of her. The air was quieter than usual. Yoongi had been acting distant, but there was a subtle shift in his demeanor she couldn’t quite place.
Yoongi entered the room, adjusting his tie, his expression unreadable.
Jimin: (softly) "Good morning."
Yoongi paused, glancing at her briefly.
Yoongi: (gruffly) "Morning."
Jimin blinked, surprised by the acknowledgment. It wasn’t warm, but it wasn’t cold either—a rare middle ground.
As he poured himself coffee, Yoongi’s phone buzzed on the table. Jimin caught a glimpse of the screen: Liza calling.
Her chest tightened, but she said nothing. Yoongi silenced the call without answering, picking up his cup and walking out.
---
Scene: Yoongi’s Office.
Yoongi sat at his desk, the investigator’s file open before him. The fake documents Liza had presented were damning, but the evidence was clear—they were fabricated.
Yoongi: (thinking) If Liza lied about this, what else isn’t true?
His assistant knocked, entering with hesitation.
Assistant: "Sir, there’s something you should know. Miss Liza has been inquiring about the financials of your charity projects. Specifically, the ones Jimin is involved with."
Yoongi’s eyes narrowed.
Yoongi: (coldly) "Why wasn’t I informed sooner?"
Assistant: "We weren’t sure it was relevant, but given recent events, I thought you should know."
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, his jaw tightening.
Yoongi: (thinking) She’s not just lying. She’s sabotaging.
---
Scene: Liza’s Penthouse.
Liza stood by the window, sipping a glass of wine as she admired the city skyline. Her accomplice sat across the room, visibly uneasy.
Accomplice: "Yoongi’s digging deeper. If he finds out—"
Liza: (cutting him off) "Relax. Yoongi is too proud to admit he made a mistake marrying that girl. He’ll come back to me once he sees she’s not worth his time."
The accomplice shifted uncomfortably.
Accomplice: "And if he doesn’t?"
Liza’s smirk faltered for a moment before returning.
Liza: "He will. He always does."
---
Scene: Jimin at the Shelter.
Jimin sat with a group of children, helping them craft holiday decorations. Their laughter was a balm to her weary heart, but the whispers from the staff and visitors still lingered.
One of the older children, a boy named Jihoon, approached her with a drawing.
Jihoon: (smiling) "Miss Jimin, I made this for you."
Jimin’s eyes softened as she took the drawing. It was a simple picture of her and the children, surrounded by hearts.
Jimin: (tearing up) "Thank you, Jihoon. It’s beautiful."
As she hugged him, she felt a presence behind her. Turning, she found Yoongi standing at the door, watching silently.
Jimin: (startled) "Yoongi? What are you doing here?"
He stepped closer, his expression unreadable.
Yoongi: "I wanted to see for myself."
Jimin frowned, confused.
Jimin: "See what?"
Yoongi: "Whether you’re the person you claim to be."
Jimin stiffened but held her ground.
Jimin: "And? Did you find what you were looking for?"
Yoongi didn’t answer immediately, his gaze shifting to the children who were now watching curiously.
Yoongi: (softly) "I think I did."
---
Scene: That Night – The Min Mansion.
Jimin sat in the living room, flipping through a book but unable to focus. Yoongi entered, his presence filling the room.
Yoongi: "We need to talk."
Jimin closed the book, her heart racing.
Jimin: "What is it?"
Yoongi sat across from her, his expression serious.
Yoongi: "I’ve been wrong about you, Jimin. The things I accused you of… they weren’t true."
Jimin’s breath hitched.
Jimin: "Why are you telling me this now?"
Yoongi hesitated, then continued.
Yoongi: "I found out the evidence against you was fabricated. Someone wanted me to believe you were… untrustworthy."
Jimin’s eyes filled with tears, but she quickly wiped them away.
Jimin: (whispering) "Who would do that?"
Yoongi’s jaw tightened.
Yoongi: "Liza."
---
Scene: Flashback – Yoongi Confronts Liza.
Earlier that day, Yoongi had confronted Liza at her penthouse.
Yoongi: (furious) "You lied to me. You created fake evidence to frame Jimin."
Liza feigned innocence, her voice trembling.
Liza: "Yoongi, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Someone must be trying to frame me!"
Yoongi slammed the investigator’s report on the table.
Yoongi: "Stop lying, Liza. I have proof."
Liza’s facade cracked, and her true nature emerged.
Liza: (coldly) "Fine. So what if I did? She doesn’t belong in your life. She’s nothing, Yoongi! I was protecting you."
Yoongi stared at her, his disgust evident.
Yoongi: "You weren’t protecting me. You were protecting your greed. We’re done, Liza."
As he walked out, Liza shouted after him, her voice filled with desperation.
Liza: "You’ll regret this, Yoongi! You always come back to me!"
---
Scene: Back to the Present – The Min Mansion.
Yoongi looked at Jimin, guilt and regret evident in his eyes.
Yoongi: "I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I wanted you to know the truth. You deserve that much."
Jimin stared at him, her emotions a whirlwind of relief, anger, and confusion.
Jimin: "Why now, Yoongi? Why are you telling me this now, after everything?"
Yoongi hesitated, then spoke softly.
Yoongi: "Because I see you now, Jimin. The real you. And I was wrong."
Jimin’s tears fell freely, but she didn’t look away.
Jimin: (whispering) "It’s going to take more than words to fix this, Yoongi."
Yoongi nodded, determination flickering in his eyes.
Yoongi: "Then I’ll prove it to you."
