Believing in Fate

My name is Sakura,Chono.

I am a 19 year old college student.

Today is 8th January 2025,the morning is peaceful and chilly,to be honest I love winter but it’ll be ending in just two months.

And as I was going college a foreigner came to me.

I think he was asking for directions,but to my defense I didn’t know what he was trying to say,I couldn’t read his lips nor I can hear his voice.

I forgot to mention I am deaf and I use sign language to talk to people or I would just write and talk.

I had this disability from my childhood.

I don’t know why but the foreigner was not stopping his mouth,it was just going on like a bullet train.

And to my surprise a very handsome boy came and I think he helped that foreigner,I didn’t understand what they were talking about but I guess I wouldn’t have understood it even if I got to hear it.

Finally the foreigner left and he started looking at me and I think he asked me something but I couldn’t read his lips,then I showed him my hearing aids and I said thank you by making a hand sign.

But to surprise me even more he replied with a hand sign saying,‘Your most welcome’.

He knew how to do a hand sign,he made a hand sign again and this time he said,

‘My name is Akito,Minamoto’

‘And What is your name’

^^^(Making Hand sign I replied)^^^

^^^‘My name is Sakura,Chono’ ^^^

He made a hand sign again and this time he said,

‘It was nice meeting you,I’ll see you around’

And....he left.

I stood still and was surprised that how’d he know hand signs so good even though he isn’t deaf nor he can’t speak.

As I reached the college I saw that boy once again.

I didn’t know he also goes to this college,I guess I’ll have to talk to him someday again.

As I was searching my class I came across a girl named Mina,Ayakato.

She was also looking for the same class as me,she look at me and smiled and I think she said something but I couldn’t read her lips,her lips were so fast.

I showed her my hearing aids and she suddenly started to write something on her phone,she showed me her phone and it said;

‘Hi,my name is Mina,Ayakato’.

‘Would you like to be my friend?’

I nodded and wrote on my phone saying;

‘Hello,Nice to meet you,my name is Sakura,Chono’

‘And I would be happy to be friends with you’

And she started writing again and this time it said;

‘Alright,then let’s go and check where our class is’

I also wrote saying;

‘Okay,lets go then’

As I started my college life I knew I wouldn’t be so easy.I’ll have many more challenges which I’ll have to overcome and as a deaf student I’ll have to work harder than everyone and I promise I’ll make my wish come true one day.
