Episode 4: "Festival Plans"

[Scene 1 – Dorm Room, Morning]

Zion is brushing his hair in front of the mirror while Fang stuffs his basketball shoes into his bag. The sunlight streams lazily through the window. Fang, fully dressed and ready to go, slings his duffle bag over his shoulder.

Fang (Grinning):

Alright, Zion. Don’t forget—tell Mayumi I’ll talk to her at 5 PM. I’m inviting her to the summer festival.

Zion pauses mid-brush, glancing at Fang through the mirror with a neutral expression.

Zion (Flatly):

Yeah, yeah. Got it.

Fang (Teasing):

Hey, don’t sound so excited about it.

Zion (Smirking, putting the brush down):

I’m thrilled, trust me. (Sarcasticly)

Fang:

Good. You’re the best. (He ruffles Zion’s hair before heading for the door.)

Zion watches Fang leave, his playful grin slowly fading as he sighs quietly.

Zion (Narrating):

Yup. Thrilled.

[Scene 2 – College Classroom, Noon]

The classroom is buzzing with chatter. Zion sits at his desk, scrolling through his phone absentmindedly until the classroom door opens. In walks Mayumi Peach—long pink hair tied neatly, round eyes scanning the room with confidence. She radiates a mix of shy charm and quiet power.

Several students wave at her, and she returns the greetings with a warm smile.

Zion (Narrating):

That’s Mayumi Peach. Sweet, smart, and somehow manages to be the quiet powerhouse of this place.

Mayumi takes the seat next to Zion, pulling out her notebook. Zion glances at her, tapping his pen against his textbook.

Zion (Clearing his throat):

Hey, Mayumi.

Mayumi (Looking up with a soft smile):

Oh, hey Zion. What’s up?

Zion:

So... Fang wanted to talk to you at 5. He, uh... has something to ask.

Mayumi tilts her head slightly, intrigued.

Mayumi (Chuckling lightly):

Hmm… sure! I’ll meet him later.

Zion (Nodding):

Cool. I’ll let him know.

The two continue chatting, but Zion can’t shake the lingering feeling in his chest.

[Scene 3 – Outside the College, Late Afternoon]

Zion waits just outside the school gates, leaning casually against the wall as the sun begins to set. His eyes flicker to the clock on his phone.

Zion (Narrating):

It’s already 6. He should be here by now...

He spots Fang walking toward him from the basketball court, duffle bag slung over his shoulder. But something about Fang’s expression is off—his usual grin replaced by a faint frown.

Zion (Frowning slightly):

What’s with the face? Didn’t she show up?

Fang (Rubbing the back of his neck):

She did. But... she’s going with her friends instead. Guess I missed my shot.

Fang sighs, looking down at the ground briefly. Zion watches him for a moment, then cracks a small, playful smile.

Zion:

Well, you *could* just take me.

Fang looks up, blinking in surprise.

Fang (Laughing a little):

You? To the festival?

Zion (Grinning):

Hey, I’ll even buy you festival food. I know you love those grilled skewers.

Fang (Pretending to think):

Hmm... You make a strong case.

Zion nudges Fang lightly, and they both laugh.

Zion (Smiling genuinely):

Come on. It’ll still be fun. Besides, I’ve got nothing better to do.

Fang (Shrugging):

Alright, alright. I guess I’m taking you to the festival.

They continue walking together, the atmosphere lightening.

The two walk side by side, the warm orange hues of the sunset casting long shadows on the pavement. Zion sneaks a glance at Fang, who seems back to his usual self, chatting about random festival games.

Zion (Narrating, softly):

Maybe this isn’t such a bad outcome after all.

Fang turns to Zion with a grin, and Zion quickly looks away, flustered.

Fang:

You’re buying the food though, right?

Zion (Laughing):

“Yeah, yeah. I got it.

The camera pans upward to the sky as the sun dips below the horizon, signaling the end of another day.
