Episode 1: “My Roommate”

[Scene 1 – Opening Shot]

Soft morning sunlight filters through the window of a shared apartment. The living room is cluttered with textbooks, basketballs, and a pile of laundry. In the bedroom, Fang San Zhu, a tall and athletic guy with messy black hair, is sprawled on his bed, snoring loudly. Zion Brew Beri, a lean, sharp-eyed young man with glasses, sits at a desk nearby, fully dressed and reading a book. He glances over at Fang and sighs dramatically, shaking his head.

Zion (Narrating):

This is my life. Rooming with Fang San Zhu—the school’s basketball star, local heartthrob, and the human embodiment of chaos. You’d think he’d have it all figured out, but trust me, he’s a disaster.

Fang groans, turning over in his sleep and hugging his pillow tighter. Zion rolls his eyes, but there’s a faint smile on his face.

Zion (Narrating):

And then there’s me, Zion Brew Beri. Top of the class, captain of the Book Club, and, most importantly... a guy with a secret. A really inconvenient secret.

Zion’s gaze lingers on Fang for a moment, his expression softening. He quickly looks away, pretending to focus on his book as he adjusts his glasses.

Zion (Narrating):

I have a crush with my Roommate.

[Scene 2 – Kitchen, Morning]

Fang finally drags himself out of bed and stumbles into the kitchen, yawning loudly. Zion is already at the counter, making coffee. Fang flops into a chair at the dining table, rubbing his eyes.

Fang (Yawning):

Morning, Zion. Coffee ready yet?

Zion (Teasing):

You’re lucky I’m a morning person, Fang. One of these days, I’m gonna let you suffer caffeine-less.

Fang grins lazily as Zion sets a mug in front of him. Zion watches him take a sip, his expression unreadable.

Fang:

Thanks, man. Don’t know what I’d do without you.

Zion hesitates for a moment, then laughs awkwardly, brushing off the comment.

Zion:

Yeah, well, you’d probably drown in laundry and instant noodles.

[Scene 3 – Living Room, Later That Morning]

The two are lounging on the couch, Fang scrolling through his phone while Zion organizes his books. There’s a brief silence before Fang suddenly sits up, looking unusually serious.

Fang:

Hey, Zion, can I ask you something?

Zion (Glancing at him, curious):

Sure, what’s up?

Fang fidgets, his usual confident demeanor faltering. Zion raises an eyebrow, intrigued.

Zion: (talking to his mind)

Is this it?.. is he going to confess his love to me?? This is so.. unexpecte-

Fang:

So... there’s this girl I like.

.....

Zion freezes for a split second, his heart skipping a beat. He quickly hides his reaction, forcing a casual tone.

Zion (Feigning disinterest):

Oh? Who’s the lucky girl?

Fang rubs the back of his neck, looking sheepish.

Fang:

Mayumi Peach. She’s in your class, right?

Zion’s stomach drops. He wasn’t expecting that answer. He forces a smile, though it feels strained.

Zion:

Mayumi? Yeah, I know her. She’s into art, anime, and... strawberry parfaits, I think?

Fang’s face lights up at the mention of Mayumi’s hobbies, his enthusiasm evident.

Fang:

Exactly! She’s so cool, but I don’t know how to talk to her. I mean, you’re good at this kind of stuff... Could you help me?

Zion feels like he’s been hit with a ton of bricks. His chest tightens, but he doesn’t let it show. He forces another smile, this one more genuine than he expects.

Zion (With a chuckle):

So... you want me to be your wingman?

Fang (Grinning):

Exactly! You’re the only one I trust with this, Zion. You’re the best.

Zion’s heart aches at the words, but he swallows the feeling down, nodding firmly.

Zion:

Alright, Fang. Operation Wingman begins.

Fang laughs, slapping Zion on the back, and the two share a moment of camaraderie. But as Fang leans back, Zion’s expression falters for a moment, a flicker of sadness crossing his face before he quickly masks it.

Zion (Narrating, in his head):

And just like that, I agreed to help the guy I like... get closer to someone else.
