Luna watched her son and Akira from a distance, a warm smile on her face. She was happy to see Elijah and Akira bonding, but she couldn't help but wonder that Elijah is hiding something really important from them.
As the days passed, Luna's curiosity grew. One evening, luna went to his son's room , and questioned Elijah with a gentle but inquiring gaze.
"Elijah, dear, can I ask you something?" Luna said, her voice soft but probing.
Elijah looked up from his homework , sensing his mother's curiosity. "Of course, Mother. What is it?"
Luna's eyes locked onto Elijah's. "You are hiding something, don't you?"
Elijah' s eye widden in shock but soon composed himself" No mother there is nothing that I'm hiding ".
Luna knowing her son very well confronted him" oh! Really, you are hiding nothing, seems like you are forgetting that I'm your mother my dear son" threatening she looked straight into Elijah's eyes.
As Elijah met his mother's eye, a rush of shiver went through his nerve and guilt washed over his face
" I...." he whispered hesitantly.
Luna not being very good at patience rebuked" my dear son, i'm a wolf not a whale who listens to infra sounds" taunted with a sweet and menacing smile.
Elijah's sweating fear finally gave in and replied calmly " mother! Akira is my fated mate" his voice firm and determined.
Luna being surprised but soon composed herself
" I see... so my dear son, you knew it from the beginning, right" .
Elijah's cheeks flushed, and he nodded sheepishly. "Yes, Mother. I knew from the moment I met her."
Luna's expression turned thoughtful. "Why didn't you tell us sooner, Elijah? And why did you keep it a secret from Akira herself?"
Elijah hesitated, unsure of how to explain. "I...I didn't know how to process it all, Mother. And I didn't want to scare Akira off. She's still so young and doesn't know much about our world."
Luna nodded understandingly. "I see. But now that Akira is living with us, we need to make sure she's prepared for what's to come. Elijah, you need to start teaching Akira about our world and her role in it."
Elijah nodded, feeling a sense of responsibility washed over him. He knew he had a lot to learn himself, but he was determined to help Akira navigate their complex world.
After the dinner....
Elijah sat in his father's study, feeling a mix of emotions. Alpha Ryker had called him in for a talk, and Elijah knew he was in for a lecture.
"Elijah, my son," Alpha Ryker began, his voice firm but gentle. "I'm proud of you for finding your mate, but I'm disappointed that you kept it a secret from us."
Elijah looked down, feeling a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, Father. I didn't know how to handle it."
Alpha Ryker leaned forward, his eyes locked onto Elijah's. "That's understandable, but as an Enigma, you have a responsibility to communicate with your family. We need to know what's going on, especially when it comes to your mate."
Elijah nodded, taking his father's words to heart.
"Now, I know you're planning to tell Akira about being mates on her 15th birthday," Alpha Ryker said, a hint of a smile on his face. "I think that's a great idea. But you need to be prepared for her reaction. She may not understand what it means to be mates, and she may need time to process it."
Elijah nodded, feeling a sense of determination. He was willing to wait for Akira to understand, and he was willing to do whatever it took to make their bond strong.
Later that evening, the family gathered in the living room to watch a movie together. Elijah sat next to Akira, feeling happy and content.
As the movie played, Elijah couldn't help but steal glances at Akira. He loved watching her laugh and smile, and he loved the way she made him feel.
Akira, sensing Elijah's gaze, turned to him and smiled. Elijah's heart skipped a beat, and he smiled back, feeling grateful for this little Omega who had captured his heart.
