PRANK
It was a peaceful afternoon in Japan, and Mitsuo Suwa, also known as the superhero Perman, was at home with his close friend Perko. The two were helping Mitsuo prepare for his wedding to Pako when Pako entered the room, her mischievous grin immediately raising alarm.
"What’s with that look, Pako?" Perko asked, squinting suspiciously.
"Oh, nothing," Pako replied with an innocent smile. "I just thought you two needed a little excitement in your day."
Mitsuo sighed. "Pako, not now. We’re busy planning the wedding. Whatever you’re thinking, don’t."
Pako smirked but said nothing as she walked out. A few hours later, she was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Mitsuo’s phone buzzed. A cryptic message popped up:
"We have Pako. If you want her back, come to the abandoned warehouse by the river. Come alone, or she’s gone forever."
Mitsuo’s heart sank. He showed the message to Perko, who jumped up in alarm. "This is bad, Mitsuo! What if she’s in real trouble?"
Without wasting a moment, Mitsuo and Perko put on their Perman masks and capes. "Stay back," Mitsuo said. "I’ll go in first. This could be a trap."
When they arrived at the warehouse, the setting sun cast an ominous glow over the building. As they stepped inside, they heard muffled cries echoing through the space.
"Help!" Pako’s voice called.
Mitsuo’s adrenaline spiked as he ran toward the sound. Perko stayed close, scanning for signs of danger. They turned a corner and found Pako tied to a chair, ropes securing her hands and a cloth gagging her mouth.
"Pako!" Mitsuo shouted, rushing forward to untie her.
Just as he touched the ropes, the lights blazed on, and Pako yelled, "Gotcha!"
Perko stumbled back in shock as confetti burst into the air and balloons floated down from the ceiling. Pako untied herself with ease and doubled over laughing.
Mitsuo froze, staring at her. "Wait… this was a prank?"
"Of course!" Pako said, her laughter filling the room. "You should’ve seen your faces! Priceless!"
Mitsuo’s expression shifted from shock to irritation. "Pako! I thought you were in real danger!"
Perko groaned, shaking his head. "I thought we were going to face some supervillains, not a prank war!"
Pako wiped tears of laughter from her eyes. "Oh, come on. It was funny! Admit it!"
Mitsuo sighed, a mischievous grin creeping onto his face. "You think this is funny? Alright, Perko, let’s teach her a lesson."
Before Pako could react, Mitsuo picked her up and flew her high into the sky, looping and spinning until she was shrieking with laughter and begging him to stop.
"Okay, okay! I give up!" she yelled.
When they finally landed, everyone was laughing, even Pako.
"Fine," she said, catching her breath. "You win this time. But don’t think for a second that I’m done!"
Perko chuckled. "We’ll be ready."
As they walked back home, the air was filled with laughter, their bond stronger than ever.
