Security Department Chaos

The room was quiet for a moment after the Head of Security (HoS) finished speaking, his words sinking into the gathered security student council members. The air was heavy—not just with the weight of the information, but also with exhaustion. It had been a long day for everyone.

Then, one of the girl members leaned forward slightly.

🇸🇦 "Sir, with all due respect, should we—on the Girls' side—be concerned? The intruder was confirmed on the Boys' side, yet the Heads themselves, even the Grandmaster GP, is taking interest. Does that mean we should be preparing for something bigger?”

Another girl, adds.

🇧🇭 "And... if this was just meant to be an internal drill for our teams, should we consider this a test for us girls as well? What was Kuroren even planning?"

The HoS, Aegis Dmitry Zorin, gave a small nod.

🇷🇺 "All valid concerns. At this moment, there is no direct indication of a security breach on the Girls’ side. However, awareness is necessary. The level of involvement from the Heads suggests that this is more than just a simple infiltration. We are to remain on standby for any further developments."

A few heads nodded, some exchanging brief glances. It made sense, but the unease in the air hadn't lifted. The silence stretched just a little too long.

Thud.

A chair scraped back harshly, cutting through the tension.

🇨🇦 "So that's it?" A boy, frustration evident in his voice, let out a sharp exhale. "All that running around, all that energy wasted, for what?!"

🇨🇦 "We were treating this like an actual crisis while Kuroren just sat back and watched? Like we're some kind of experiment!?" he continued, voice rising as he stood up.

A few people exchanged glances, but no one spoke. The Head of Security remained silent, watching carefully. Then—

🇩🇪 "Lower your voice, Torrance." (firmly)

🇨🇦 Torrance turned his glare towards her. "Don't start with that, Deputy." 💢

🇩🇪 "If you have a problem, you bring it up properly." She shot back. "Not like this."

🇨🇦 "Properly?" (scoffed) "We should all be pissed! We were dragged into this, we were running blind, and now we're just supposed to sit here and nod?" — "We had better things to do."

Ivelle took a slow breath, keeping her expression neutral.

🇩🇪 "I get it," she said. "You're tired. We all are. But what you're doing right now? It's not helping anyone."

🇨🇦 "So what, we just accept it?!" — "I'm not some obedient doll you girls are!"

Ivelle's fingers curled slightly, nails pressing into her palm. She was trying to keep her patience—but he wasn't making it easy.

🇩🇪 "You don't bring up gender nonsense into this—"

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Throwing a tantrum won't make it any better, Blaise." Hyundae's chill voice cut through.

The Canadian boy, Blaise Torrance, scoffed again. "Unbelievable."

...~•~...

The argument was escalating, the frustration in the room thick enough to choke on.

🇩🇪 "If you're really that upset," — "Please sit down. Then we'll talk.”

🇨🇦 "I don't take orders you."

🇩🇪 "Torrance." — "Sit down."

🇨🇦 "I'M NOT YOUR DOG!"

That made the entire room fall into dead silence.

Ivelle's chair scraped back. She stood. Her expression was unpleasant.

🇩🇪 "Say that again." 💢

🇨🇦 "Oh? Hit a nerve, missy?"

🇩🇪 "No, really." (eerily calm) "Say that again—While I'm throwing you out of this building."

🇩🇪 "So everyone will know you're not my dog."

Blaise's cocky expression wavered. Because he and everyone else knew she could and she would actually do it. Before he could spit back another remark—

🇷🇺 "Miss Schwarzenberg." The Head of Security's voice rang through the room.

Ivelle's hands clenched at her sides. She inhaled sharply, then let it out slowly, forcing herself to sit back down. She has anger issues and she knows it. She was still pissed. But she pushed it down.

Aegis leaned forward slightly, his gaze settling Blaise. The Head of Security finally spoke.

🇷🇺 "You done?" His voice was calm—but absolute.

For a second, it looked like Blaise Torrance might push back again. But after a tense pause, he clicked his tongue, yanked his chair back, and sat down heavily.

🇷🇺 "Good."

🇷🇺 "We're all tired. But if any of you want to lash out like a child, do it on your own time. Not in this meeting." — "You got a real complaint?" — "Say it properly."

...~•~...

[Later that meeting...]

🇩🇪 "I have another thing to bring up,"

The room's reaction was instant. A shift in energy. Some intrigued, some indifferent.

🇨🇦 "What now?" [mutters]

🇷🇺 (gave her a nod) "Go on."

🇩🇪 "The 'Red Drop' thing. The one recently happened in the girls' dorms—"

🇸🇬 "That prank?"

🇨🇦 "You're seriously bringing up a prank now?"

🇱🇦 "Wait—what is this?" one of the boys cut in, clearly out of the loop. "Red drop what?"

🇴🇲 "She's talking about the candy thing. Some joke where the girls find a red candy outside their doors."

🇱🇦 "And you think that's related to an infiltration case?"

🇸🇦 "Do you think they correlate, miss deputy?"

Ivelle opened her mouth, but another voice cut across.

🇭🇺 "Gosh... We're sitting here discussing a security breach and not high school pranks."

Laughter from one side. An irritated scoff from the other. Her pulse spiked. Too many voices. Too many shifts in tone. Ivelle tried to speak again, but—

🇭🇺 "I mean, come on, if we're talking about candy pranks, should we also discuss missing lunchboxes?"

Ivelle's grip tightened. The tension in the room was pressing down on her spine. *Pull it back. Control the room.* Then, before the conversation could spiral any further—

🇩🇪 "I brought this up for a reason,” she said, forcing her tone to keep it neutral and controlled.

🇩🇪 "Let me explain. Then you can decide if it's a waste of time."

🇨🇦 "Oh? So now we get a whole lecture on candy?" he sneered. "Should we take notes too, Rowena, or will there be a quiz later?"

🇱🇦 "Come on, man..." from the more reasonable Lao boy.

But Ivelle felt it like a static charge, mix of frustration, humiliation, and the ever-present urge to break the desk in half. She clenched her jaw, pushing it down. Don't react. Stay calm. Stay—

⁉️ 👀

Someone cleared their throat.

Hyun Dae.

No... Not really.

It's him, the boy with too much time in his pockets. But not the one who playes around and turned classes into war zones. No. He's not Hyun Dae now... He's Theodore Hayes.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "You know..." His voice made the room still for a fraction of a second—They know that killer voice.

And then—He said her name.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿"...Moon Ji Hye."

The shift was subtle, but there. Aegis... he barely reacted at all. But Hayes knew exactly where Aegis's attention just went. That was step one. Get the HoS to listen. Everyone else would follow. (Gotcha!)

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Her younger sister, Moon Ji Soo told her something. She then forwarded the info to Ivelle." His eyes flicked to Ivelle for a fraction of a second—reassuring.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Unlike the rest of the girls." — "Jisoo didn't just find a red candy outside her door."

Silence.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "I'm certain this isn't just some dorm prank."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Even if it's not connected to the infiltration case, it's still something that needs attention."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Our deputy has the full details." Another glance toward Ivelle. Encouraging.

Like he was telling her: Take it from here. I got your back.

And that—that was the part that always threw her off.

Because for all their fighting, for all the chaos he caused her daily—He wouldn't let her fall. Not in front of people. And definitely not now.

She exhaled slowly, carefully smoothing the edge of her sleeve, before pulling out her phone.

"I received this from Jihye, a moment after the call to this meeting." she said, tapping the screen. She turned it around, letting the room see the forwarded texts from Jisoo to Jihye—to her.

And then she swiped. A picture.

A red candy. And right next to it—A Dorami hairpin.

...~•~...

Ivelle's voice was steady as she translated the texts aloud.

"Eonnie... I have something to say about the 'Red Drop Mystery'. Eonnie... I know who did it. It was my roommate. (Kemiko). And unlike everyone else, I didn't just find a red candy at my door. There was also a hairpin with it. It was a code from my roommate. She wanted me to call her. So... I did. But... I don't know. Something's off. It feels like she can't come back. Like she's in trouble, but she doesn't act like it at all. She still smiles. Like it's the brightest day ever. She hasn't told me why she's doing this... But something... something feels wrong."

...~•~...

The moment Ivelle finished, the room was still. No more scoffs. No more dismissive remarks.

Then—Hayes noticed first. Of course he did. His gaze flicked to the Head of Security.

Aegis then pulled out his phone. Typing something. A second later, his voice cut through the room—"She knows what she did." He continued, still typing as he spoke.

🇷🇺 "She's careful. She knows she's being watched." — "That means the dorm infiltration isn't physical accessed. It's surveillance."

That sent a ripple through the room.

🇷🇺 "She doesn't go to her room directly," — "She only leaves hints. And she's smart enough to drop the candy at multiple doors, she's throwing off whoever's watching.”

🇧🇷 "So she's keeping herself out of the pattern."

Aegis nodded.

🇷🇺 "But this also means the watcher has already noticed her movements," — "And if they're monitoring closely enough, she's in trouble either way."

🇷🇺 "We're estimating Code Orange on the boys' side happened a few moments before this hint was dropped, right?"

The girls nodded. The conversation shifted gears. Fast.

🇧🇭 "If it were just a simple camera or bug, wouldn't we have found it by now?"

🇧🇷 "If a first-year found something, then it should've been obvious to us too."

🇸🇲 "Unless..." (leaned forward.) "Kemiko doesn't actually know what she's looking for. But she can feel it."

Heads turned. Rosabella De Amore continued, after reapplying her lip balm.

🇸🇲 "I reviewed the dorm cameras. She's been looking around a lot, but not in a 'where am I' way. More like she's searching for something."

🇧🇭 "Did she find anything?"

🇸🇲 "No." — "Which means either there's nothing—or whatever's there is too well-hidden for her to spot."

Then another girl chimed in,

🇸🇬 "I remember something." — "Kemiko gave a package to her friend earlier—I saw her delivering it to the teachers' room."

🇩🇪 "What kind of package?"

🇸🇬 "I heard it was her phone."

Silence.

🇷🇺 "...Her phone?"

🇸🇬 (nodded.) "She sent it with a note, telling them to check it thoroughly."

The air in the room changed. Everyone knew the rules—keep your phone close. It was their lifeline at this school, containing everything from schedules to security alerts. No one just handed it over unless something was seriously wrong.

🇴🇲 "Did she thought it was bugged?" a boy muttered.

That made too much sense.

🇮🇹 "It's already with the Data & Intelligence Division." another girl confirmed.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "And?"

🇮🇹 "Nothing."

That sent a ripple of tension through the room.

🇸🇲 "Nothing?"

🇮🇹 (shook her head) "Her phone was completely clean. No trackers, no spyware, no external access. Even our their supervisor double-checked. Still nothing."

🇷🇺 "...Then maybe it's not a conventional bug,"

The room fell quiet again. Then whatever was being used wasn't something they could detect easily. Hayes tapped his knuckles lightly against the table as he muttered,

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Then this isn't just a coincidence." — "Should have just let Ivelle talk."

No one argued.

...~•~...

Aegis finally stopped typing, he puts his phone down, looking up at the room.

🇷🇺 "We confirm this quietly," — "No unnecessary noise. No panic."

🇩🇪 "Should we work with Kemiko directly?"

🇷🇺 (nodded)

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Before anyone says we don't need to get more people involved... Especially a kid." — "Hear me out."

Theodore Hayes, who's now known as Hyun Dae The 93th Sunshine speaks up.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "All the Sunshines of GPPS have senses above average." — "The 98th hasn't been confirmed yet, but GP did gave us a note to look out for this... 'Kemiko' didn't he?"

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "She might not know what she's sensing, but she can tell us where she feels it the most."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Kid will come in handy." (Or a handful like me~ 🙊)

🇸🇲 "But she's at the event for the new kids," Rosabella pointed out. "It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, we can't just drag the sweet girl out."

Hayes, who's back in his Hyundae mode, smirked.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Guess that means we gotta work fast, huh?"

🇷🇺 "Call her out discreetly. The faster we do this, the sooner she gets back to the event."

...(What's life without a little bit of mischief - Hyundae)...

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Yeah, it's better if we got something before bedtime. " — "Besides..."

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Can't have my lovely friend Jihye losing sleep over this." he casually said before lowering his voice quietly... Only for the HoS to hear. "Right, Aegis?"

Typical Hyundae... You can't really hide a secret from him. He's having fun, using the fact he's the only one who knows about Aegis's secret crush on Jihye just to get a reaction out of the HoS.

And the HoS, Aegis? He tried to not react. But Hyundae saw it. The way his jaw just barely tensed.

Hyun bit back a grin.

🇷🇺 "We'll keep it low-profile." he adds, trying to hide that Hyun hit a nerve.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "Ah, efficiency." — "Almost like someone's motivated."

Aegis ignored him. But Hyundae? He was so enjoying this.
