Varishtha asked the vet, "How many days will it take for the puppy to get healthy?"
The vet replied, "It will take a few weeks, but he'll be fine." Meanwhile, Monalika and Khushi were playing with the puppy, cooing over how cute he was.
"Oh my god, look at his little nose!" Monalika squealed. Khushi giggled and replied, "I know, right? And his ears are so floppy!" Monalika nodded enthusiastically, "I know, I just want to squeeze him all day!"
After some time, Monalika suggested, "We should head back home. If we're late again, we'll get scolded." Varishtha and Khushi agreed, and as they started walking, the puppy followed them.
They returned the puppy to the vet, but he refused to stay behind. He whined and whimpered, his little tail wagging frantically as he tried to follow them. It was as if he was begging them not to leave him. He even tried to squeeze through the vet's door, his tiny body wriggling with effort. The girls laughed and cooed over his antics, feeling a pang of sadness at leaving him behind. "Don't worry, little guy," Varishtha whispered, "we'll come back and visit you soon." They managed to leave the vet's office without the puppy, but not before he gave them a pleading look that melted their hearts.
As they walked home, the conversation turned to their daily lives. Monalika shared stories about her college classes, while Khushi talked about her school friends. Varishtha listened intently, laughing and commenting on their stories.
Along the way, Varishtha excitedly told Monalika and Khushi about her crush. "Guess what? He talked to me today! We were standing by the lockers, and he came up to me and started talking about our math homework. I was so nervous, but he was really sweet."
"No way! What did you say?" Monalika asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"I told him I was struggling with the assignment, and he offered to help me study," Varishtha replied, blushing.
"That's so cute!" Khushi cooed. "I'm sure he's interested in you."
Varishtha grinned, feeling a flutter in her chest. "I hope so! I've had a crush on him for ages."
Monalika teased, "You're going to marry him and have cute little babies!" Varishtha playfully rolled her eyes, while Khushi chuckled.
The conversation then turned to Khushi, who shared that her boyfriend's friend from school had been talking to him a lot, making her feel jealous. Monalika jumped to Khushi's defense, saying, "That girl is a b****! She's trying to get in between you and your boyfriend. I bet she's just jealous of how cute you and your boyfriend are together."
Varishtha chimed in, "Yeah, and I'm sure she's just trying to cause drama. Don't worry, Khushi, you're way prettier and cooler than her."
Monalika nodded in agreement. "Totally! And I'm sure your boyfriend can see right through her. She's just a pathetic try-hard."
Khushi laughed, feeling better. "Thanks, guys. You're the best."
Monalika then shared that nothing exciting was happening in her life, and it was all a bit boring. She started joking about random things, and the girls continued chatting and laughing together.
As they walked, they didn't care what people around them thought. They laughed freely, enjoying each other's company. After some time, they reached their respective homes, said their goodbyes, and went inside.
Varishtha settled into her routine, doing her homework and listening to music. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that she had known the puppy for a long time. She thought to herself, "Why do I feel so familiar with him? He's just a little puppy." She remembered the way he had looked at her, his big brown eyes sparkling with affection. She felt a pang in her heart, wondering why she felt such a strong connection to him. She brushed it off, thinking she was just overthinking, and continued with her homework. But the image of the puppy lingered in her mind, making her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
As she worked on her math assignment, Varishtha's mind kept wandering back to the puppy. She wondered what he was doing right now, whether he was missing her
