Aria's eyes watched as Payu settled into the small cabin on the outskirts of Oakwood. She had helped him gather his belongings and made sure he had everything he needed.
But despite her helpful facade, Aria's heart was heavy with guilt. She knew her brother's plan was already in motion, and she was powerless to stop it.
One night, as they sat by the fireplace, Payu turned to Aria with a look of trust in his eyes. "I'm glad you're here with me," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
Aria's heart broke, knowing that she was about to fail him in the worst possible way. She forced a smile, trying to keep up the charade. "I'll always be here for you, Payu," she lied. But as she looked into his eyes, she knew that she was betraying his trust. And soon, Payu would pay the price for her loyalty to her brother... She knew the truth. Her brother was closing in, and Payu's time was running out.
One night, Payu received a call from an unknown number and the person on the other hand said he has a clue on who the figure who stunts Payu is and asked him to come over.
Payu arrived at the address the mysterious caller had given him, his heart racing with anticipation. The building was an old, run-down apartment complex on the outskirts of town. Payu's instincts told him to be cautious, but his desire for answers kept him moving forward.
He knocked on the door, and a faint voice called out, "Come in."
Payu pushed open the door and stepped inside. The room was dimly lit, with only a single flickering light bulb to illuminate the space. A man sat in the shadows, obscured from view.
"Who are you?" Payu demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.
The man slowly stood up, its features still hidden in the darkness. "Someone who knows the truth," it replied in a low, gravelly voice.
Payu took a step forward, his eyes straining to see the figure's face. "What do you know?" he pressed.
The figure paused, as if collecting its thoughts. "I know who's been stalking you," it said finally.
Payu's heart skipped a beat. "Who?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
The man stepped forward, its face still obscured. "It's someone close to you," it said, its voice dripping with malice. "Someone you trust." Payu's mind reeled as he tried to process the information. Who could it be? Aria?
The man turned to leave, but Payu caught his arm. "Wait," he said. "Tell me more."
The man turned back, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "Meet me at the old warehouse on 5th and Main at midnight," he said. "And come alone." With that, the man slipped away into the darkness, leaving Payu with more questions than answers.
Then Payu when about to cross to the other side of the road, a car out of nowhere just approaching with full speed and without any hope of stopping with it's front lights on.
a car screeched to a halt a few meters from Payu, its tires smoking from the sudden stop.
"You're getting close to the truth, Payu," Aria's brother(the figure) spat to himself. "But you'll never make it to the warehouse. You'll never uncover the secrets."
Breathless and shaken, Payu finally stopped to look around. He found himself in a deserted alleyway, the only sound the distant hum of traffic. But as he looked down at his phone, he saw a text message from an unknown number:
"You're running out of time. Meet me at the warehouse at midnight. Come alone."
...lo and behold, as he was about to cross the road to the other side a car's front lights illuminated Payu's terrified face before everything went black.
Payu's world was shattered by the sound of screeching tires and crunching metal. He felt himself flying through the air, his body twisting in an unnatural motion.
The next thing Payu knew, he was lying on the ground, his head throbbing with pain. He struggled to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over him, forcing him back down.
As he lay there, Payu saw the car's front end, badly damaged, just a few feet away. The driver's side door creaked open, and a figure emerged. Payu's vision blurred.
