Chapter 4 : The Letter

ALISTAIR REDFORD'S SIDE :

Returning from Ciath would be this difficult who would have thought. All those officials are so clingy and smile all the time that it's so annoying.

Those who came to the border were also annoying. Or maybe I'm so angry that I feel all the people of this Lasien country is annoying.

To return home soon I even told them that my daughter's birthday is coming, but they even knew the date.

If it hadn't been that the king personally asked me, I would never have taken this job.

Anyway, Dan took the best horse so I think we would be reaching by dawn. Oh, my sweet little girl, she would be more amazing than before I think. I can't wait to see her.

" Sir ." My string of thoughts broken by Dan's voice.

" What? " I asked.

" I think there's a child, shouting in the middle of the road," Dan replied.

"Then, stop and ask ."

Before Dan started working for me, he was a friend, so with him, I don't need to say much and he understands what I want to say perfectly.

The carriage stopped. I tried to listen to the conversation.

I got the minimum story from what I heard.

The child is an orphan and was not taken good care of. Now she is running away from home and wants to go to the capital.

I opened the small window. It was a little girl with a big mess of hair on her head. Maybe just four or five years of age.

On a day like this, when I'm going to see my daughter on her birthday another child is in such difficulty.

"Dan don't waste time, just take her. We need to return soon ." I just wanted to make sure of that child's safety.

After sometimes tired from so much talking with Dan the child slept quietly.

So I called Dan, " Hey Dan, why don't you take care of this kid."

" Alright, Sir. "

We reached at dawn as hoped. I went to see my daughter as soon as possible. She loved the gift too. The day was going great. The dinner today will be a bigger one too. Everything feels good, I'm so happy.

But my happiness didn't last long. A messenger came with a letter from the king. And it's urgent. I opened the letter.

But it didn't say much. Just says that a meeting has been arranged in the early morning.

This king doesn't even give me time to rest a little.

The next day in the morning I went to the meeting. But I got a little surprised by the people gathered there. And even Dan was There. The king entered the hall.

After the greetings, His Royal Highness started.

" Everyone, if you haven't guessed let me tell you, today we are here to discuss about the sudden flickering of a certain Life Stone. Which shows the mana movements of Nightmare, the Dark Sword.

" The king stopped after saying this much.
