Chapter 2 : The Capital

I can see light in distance, it's coming this way. and a sound too. It must be a horse carriage. I need to stop it.

It is going in the direction of the capital?

I can go to the capital.

I blocked the road and started waving my hands and shouting.

I can see the horse racing towards me, my heart is beating fast, but I can't leave the road.

What if the carriage doesn't stop? I can not let that happen. I have to go to the capital at any cost.

It's getting near........ oh it stopped.

I think the coachman is very angry, and the person inside too.

The coachman jumped from his seat. Wow, he is big. Any normal child would start crying, but anyway I'm not a child inside.

He asked me in a heavy voice,

- "Hey kid, what are you doing in this night in the middle of the road."

I have to act pitiful, but can't tell him the total truth. I can say it my way then. I should start crying.

-"I, I ran away from home, my parents died, aunt makes me work all day, and, and whenever she gets angry she beats me with a stick.

I don't want to stay here. I will go to the capital. please take me with you.

I won't disturb you, I will quietly sit outside. "

- "All right, all right, now stop crying." He sounds flustered now.

A face looked out from the carriage,

-"Dan, don't waste time, just take her, we need to return soon. "

-"Yes, Master. "

Then he looked at me and said - "come".

On our way, to the capital, Dan asked me things about me. I told him all the answers. Just "forget" to mention my parent's names and the identity as adventurers.

And that I have magic.

What I heard from him is that his master is a great person and a noble of the capital. His name is Alistair Redford. He has a son Nathaniel or in short Nathan and a daughter Ashley and wife Johanna.

Sir Alistair is in the ministry of international communication.

He was away for months due to work, and he is returning home after a long time.

But he is in the rush. He wants to be at home before morning.

Tomorrow is his daughter's birthday and he wants to be the first to wish her. He dotes on his daughter so much.

Ashley will be of three years. And Nathan is seven years old.

I learned many more things about them.

They have a mansion, and it has a garden, stable, a pond with water as clear as crystal, lots of maids and servants, quarters for them.

They even have their Knight squad.

With all this running and crying and talking I started to feel tired at some point and before I knew it I fell asleep.

When Dan (the coachman) woke me up it was already morning.

But we are not in front of any mansion or anything, it seems like a place to leave the carriage. And the horse wasn't in front.

When I looked at Dan with curious eyes I saw he was smiling.
