"**That Hexed**!" Chugar shouted, launching an attack toward the mutant they were facing. She quickly turned her head to glance at Matthew beside her.

Sweat dripped from his brow, a sign of the intensity of their battle. The mutant they were fighting had been slowly trying to consume a high school girl, and it wasn’t going down without a fight.

"Ferroniger, are you alright?" Chugar asked, her voice tinged with concern as she observed Matthew’s focused, calculative expression.

The more we strike this thing, the more it mutates into a new Hexed, Matthew realized, pausing in the heat of the battle. In short, we’re just helping this Hexed grow its population. "Yeah, I’m good," he replied coolly, his voice unwavering and distant, as always.

Chugar, with her hair untamed and her face soaked in sweat, stood tall and straightened her posture, determination flashing in her eyes. "Your clan…" she began, catching Matthew's attention. While the main Hexed infront of them tried to escape. "The lineage of your clan can summon beasts, right?" she asked directly.

Matthew met her gaze, his calm demeanor unchanged as he waited for her to continue.

"Our attacks won’t work on a Mutadaptive Hexed," Chugar said, her voice now more serious. She was trying to calm herself, knowing they needed a solid plan. "And I’m sure you’ve noticed it by now," she added, her gaze hardening as she fixed him with a stare.

Matthew, reading her body language and words, stood up. A faint smirk tugged at his lips, though Chugar didn’t catch it. "Uh, our clan is one of the branches of the Thereschrialze clan," he answered and agreed, his tone steady.

Chugar, now piecing it together, spoke on his behalf. "A Beastbinder, isn’t it?"

Matthew gave a simple nod.

"Good, I guess you know what to do already," she said, her voice sweet with excitement. A mischievous gleam danced in her eyes as she thought to herself, I’ll get my revenge for the wounds you’ve given me. Remembering the wounds she'd get from that Mutadaptive Hexed.

Her expression was that of a child eager for something exciting, and though Matthew couldn’t help but notice her joy, it only made her seem more strange to him. 'What makes her smile like that?' he wondered, his dull expression betraying his confusion as he studied her.

"Alright," Matthew said, straightening his posture as he focused on the task ahead. Without hesitation, he bit off his thumb, causing it to bleed.

Chugar froze in shock, watching him closely.

'Should I ask if that’s part of the process?' she thought, but didn’t dare interrupt him.

Matthew drew a symbol in the air with his blood—a pattern only members of the Ferroniger clan would recognize. Once completed, he formed the familiar gesture of his clan, signaling the summoning of something.

Then, in a language only he understood, he began to chant softly, "Nyr'val umbra~..." His voice was barely audible, as though he was whispering a secret, and Chugar strained to hear.

As she watched, the symbol on his palm began to bleed more profusely, drops of blood falling onto the ground. Then, with a final word, the ritual was complete.

Two wolves appeared before them, one black and one white. Their size was enormous, and the sheer power emanating from them made Chugar's heart race. She could feel the weight of their presence, a force unlike anything she had felt before.

'So this is Nyx and Solis.' Chugar, who had once read every clan’s history book, recognized the beasts. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in their imposing forms.

“Quite frightening, heh~” she muttered, her voice a soft, amused giggle as she gazed up at the two massive wolves.

Matthew stood tall, his gaze fixed on Chugar. She stared back, her face unreadable, but Matthew couldn’t help but notice her reaction—it was almost childish.

“What’s with that face?” he asked, his voice flat, as if he found her disappointment amusing.

Chugar, pouting like a child who’d had her candy taken away, crossed her arms and glared at him. “Awhh! I thought your beasts would be more adorable! Hmph!” She whined, her tone full of exaggerated, mock disappointment, and her lower lip stuck out in an overly dramatic pout.

"..." — Matthew in confusion just stared at her for some moment in silence.

'Did I just... say that?' A dirty thought struck her mind in an instant, and her eyes widened in horror. 'Wait—what?!'

’His adorable beast?!’

Her cheeks flushed a deep red. ‘I didn’t mean it like that! NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL!!’

She quickly turned her head, feeling the heat rise up her neck, her mind racing. ‘Why did I even say that?!’

Her body language shifted slightly, trying to hide her embarrassment, but the sly grin tugging at the corner of her lips gave away her mischievous thoughts. She muttered under her breath, “Maybe I was just thinking something else...”

Matthew blinked, clearly not understanding the sudden shift in her mood. He stared at her, still trying to process the words she’d just said. ‘What did she expect for a beast?’ he wondered, his expression unreadable. ‘To be pretty?’ He's too innocent for real.
