**This was the night they would embark on their second attempt to find the Hexed object—a crucial mission for Chugar and Matthew**.
Their success would determine their promotion in the ranks. Failure was not an option.
Although Chugar had received her treatment and could move freely now, Arclreign remained cautious about her wounds. The possibility of them reopening was still a concern.
Arclreign also knew of Chugar's fear of the dark. It wasn’t just the absence of light, but a reminder of something far more disturbing from her past.

Afternoon Flashback:
The twist came when Chugar, with a bright, childlike grin, invited Arclreign to join the mission. “Listen, listen, Reign! We can spend some leisure time on our mission. Come with us!” Her enthusiasm was contagious, her smile like the sun on a clear day.
Arclreign, gazing at her with a calm expression, replied, “Well, if that’s what you wish.”
“Yeppie!” Chugar raised both arms in a victorious gesture, as though she had just won a hard-fought battle. She then hugged Arclreign, rubbing her face against hers. Arclreign, in her usual modesty, smiled gently in response.
Matthew, standing in the corner like a stoic statue, seemed completely out of place in the reunion between the two women. He didn’t seem to exist in their moment of camaraderie. Poor Matthew.

Back To The Present Hour:
Chugar stared at the dark alley ahead, her expression unreadable. It was a striking contrast to her usual energy, but no one dared to mock her.
Her companions, however, were all serious and focused. The mood was somber, with Matthew and Arclreign sharing the same quiet determination.
“Miss Melisylva...” Matthew’s voice broke the stillness as they entered the school building.
But Chugar didn’t move. Her expression remained unchanged.
‘Is she scared?’ Matthew wondered as he tried to read her face.
“Cassià, dear,” Arclreign spoke softly, approaching and tapping Chugar’s shoulder. The simple touch seemed to bring Chugar back to reality in an instant.
Chugar turned, meeting Arclreign’s gaze. “I... I’m alright. No need to worry about me.” Her words were a bluff, and both Arclreign and Matthew could see through it.
Arclreign gently took Chugar’s hand under her cloak and placed something in it. “Wear this. It’s an amulet for protection.” Then, in a quiet whisper, Arclreign added words of comfort, bringing a reassuring smile to Chugar’s face.
‘It seems these two treat me as an outsider,’ Matthew thought, though he didn’t take it personally. “I guess we could proceed now,” he said, observing the two women before leading the way with unwavering confidence.
As they ventured deeper into the school building, the air grew heavier, the darkness thickening with each step.
“The negative energy is growing stronger, don’t you think?” Chugar asked, glancing at Matthew, who appeared deep in thought.
Suddenly, Matthew halted. Silence enveloped the group. He turned toward Chugar, his face serious. “Your sister,” he began.
Chugar’s heart skipped a beat. “REIGN!” She spun around, but Arclreign was nowhere to be found. Her voice trembled with worry. “As expected, we shouldn’t have lowered our guard.”
Chugar’s face became a whirlwind of confusion and fear. She murmured under her breath, “A type of Hexed mutant, capable of moving in stealth...” Her voice trailed off.
"More likely known as the... Geez, I can't recall!" she continued, the pieces falling into place in her mind. But anxiety clouded her thoughts, and she couldn’t concentrate.
“What was the name of it again?” She asked urgently, looking to Matthew for an answer.
Before Matthew could respond, Chugar’s eyes widened in shock as he shouted, “MOVE!”
Suddenly, the ground shook with a deafening ‘BOOM! ’ The impact reverberated through the building, throwing everything into chaos.
The building trembled, and everything happened so fast. Chugar slowly opened her eyes after the explosion subsided.
“Ouch, my back!” Chugar winced in pain, but she quickly pushed herself up. The air around her felt heavy, and ‘Matthew—was he unconscious?’ She quickly checked, confirming he was. Without hesitation, she tossed him aside.
As Chugar rose, her gaze fell upon a massive hole in the hallway—an opening that stretched from the fifth floor to the first. "What immense power," she murmured, her voice filled with awe as she took in the destruction before her.
She looked behind her and saw Matthew lying unconscious. Kneeling beside him, she gently tapped his forehead and began to chant a healing spell. “You owe me this time, Mr. Ferroniger.”
She began her healing enchantments:
“Kaelothar luminar,” a soft green glow surrounded her,
“Sa'lioth raen, ta'zarh kalen,” she continued, not missing a single word,
“Waell'mir den.”
“Kaal'vath aril, narist raen, vilar'thar kiress.” With the final words, the spell completed.
‘The spell may wake him, but if he expects me to heal his bruises, that’s another story,’ Chugar thought to herself.
As expected, Matthew stirred. He opened his eyes, gazing at Chugar. He quickly sat up, his eyes widening as he took in the scene of devastation. It wasn’t the worst destruction, but it certainly wasn’t good either.
