Chapter 4: The Eye That Watches

As Olivia stood in the middle of the room, her heart raced, as if each beat coincided with the strange sound behind her. The sky had grown darker, and everything around her had become eerily quiet, as though time had stopped for a moment.

She turned slowly, trying to confirm the source of the sound. Her eyes scanned the dark room, but everything was still, no movement to be seen. Yet her heart did not settle; there was something strange, as if something invisible was lurking around her.

She tried to calm her nerves and continue her search, but something about this room made her feel trapped, surrounded by something intangible. Suddenly, a faint light flickered from behind an old door in the corner. It was a room she had previously ignored, but now, it felt as if something was calling her to it, as if something was waiting inside.

With caution, she stepped into the room. Everything inside was old and crumbling. The walls were cracked, and the furniture was broken, as though someone had tried to hide something in here. As she looked around, the dim light from a flashlight helped illuminate the place, yet there was still an uncomfortable feeling in the air.

While moving through the room, she noticed something unusual: an old tape recorder on a table in the corner. The recorder looked odd for its time, as if it belonged to a bygone era. She muttered to herself, "What could this be?"

She approached it carefully, touching the buttons, trying to turn it on. Suddenly, the machine emitted a low sound, followed by a faint voice, very soft but clear. The voice was unsettling, almost like an echo from a distant person, but loud enough for her to understand.

"Do not open the doors that should not be opened... Do not ask what cannot be asked... From behind the shadows, we are here... and we are watching."

The words echoed in her ears, each letter growing clearer. The voice was strange, not one she recognized, yet it seemed to come from a place in time, as if she had heard it before, in a past moment. There was something powerful in those words, something warning her.

What made her tremble even more was that at the end of the recording, another sound followed. It was the sound of a door opening slowly, as if she had sensed something important. The sound began to quicken, as if it were transcending time itself. The voice that followed her was the same one she had heard earlier, the one that had been haunting every corner. It was telling her something terrifying she wasn’t ready to hear.

An Unexpected Surprise:

Her heart raced with each word of that voice. The sound was getting closer, and she felt as if she were being trapped in that dark space. In a moment, she realized she wasn’t alone there—someone truly was watching her. She was now part of a game whose details she didn’t yet understand.

She felt a sudden movement behind her. She jolted in place, not knowing what to do. She tried to catch her breath as her feet moved quickly toward the door, but she heard another sound seeping into her ears. This time, it was clearer, and it carried a menacing threat.

"You are coming to the end. The closer you get, the closer you get to the truth... But remember well: everyone has a price, and the cost of the truth may be greater than you can imagine."

She didn’t know whether this voice came from the recorder or from Julian, but she was sure of one thing: someone was following her. It was a strange person, deliberately trying to scare her with every step.

The Shadows Draw Near:

But she was not alone. The shadows were closing in on her, and every step she took meant that the danger was growing. She felt something sharp dig into her chest. There was someone behind her, and someone in front of her.

She was facing a dark reality, and what had seemed like a dream was now turning into a living nightmare, with no way to escape. She was one step away from discovering the truth, but this path was not the one she had expected.
