CHAPTER 19: SHATTERED

"ice face?" Jackie, who was spying in the girls and heard their conversation growled in anger as she walked out

"The one from the dirt dares to dream too, I guess anyone can dream these days" A voice said from behind as Diane froze and bowed her head hiding her shocked expression behind her long hair as her body trembled

*Diane:"Her presence... I didn't notice it until she spoke, why is that? I noticed the others when they were hiding why didn't I notice her? Have I started to lose my senses? "*

Diane asked as Jackie rushed to her stretching out her arms and growling instinctively. Jessica froze in shock as Jackie's nails lengthened becoming claws and her pupils turned ice blue, the air around her changed too becoming ominous and tight

" Jack...." Jessica called as Jackie seemed to have lost it

Diane heaved heavily as sweat dripped down her face and her disguise fell and her pale white face lost more color becoming as white as snow

*Diane: These 2, just how strong have they become?* Diane said in thought

"Diane?" Sage called out as Diane tried to calm down then smiled as she turned to Jackie covering her eyes with her palm

"Calm down, it's alright, it's not good to react to every single attack, some are futile but would hurt if you pay attention to it." Diane whispered in her ear as Jackie's claws retracted naturally

"You..." Jessica froze as Diane grabbed Jackie by the collar of her shirt at the back, drawing her away

"Let's go" She said to the girls who nodded following her

"STOP THERE!" Jessica shouted as Diane stopped

"Sorry to intrude on you but I have no business with you princess, why don't you go exercise your power somewhere else?" Diane replied as she walked ahead the girls followed.

" Grrrr.. " Jessica growled watching them leave.

Diane arrived at the canteen as she let go of Jackie's collar

" Finally! I was starving! " Diane said with a smile as she signalled the cook

" You again?!" He shouted giving the girls a little shock as Diane only smiled

"Yo!" She greeted as the old man scoffed

"You're still here, I thought after everything you'd quit"

"You know I'm not one to quit"

"Yeah? Right, we'll see, The usual then?"

" Yeah!" Diane shouted in excitement as the old man tossed a giant bowl at her

"There" He said as Diane opened the lid of the bowl smiling, piping hot steam escaped immediately as the girls stared

"Noodles?!"

"Hmn, thank you for this meal" Diane said clapping as she downs the noodles at an inhumane speed

"How did she..." Jackie muttered

"AHHHH! SHE'S DOING IT AGAIN!!!" Astrid shouted holding her hair

"That's some appetite" Vanna muttered as Mo yun got tossed a bowl of noodles too as she stared at it then digs in

"Thank you for this meal" She said as she also ate at an inhumane speed

"To think, how are they this skinny if they eat like that?"

" Last we ate was the middle of the session" Diane said with a full mouth as she turned back to the food

" Really?! " The girls screamed as they noticed Diane and Mo yun's figure was skinny and pale

"I guess we haven't paid much attention to you uh?" Astrid said feeling guilty as Diane and Mo yun dropped the empty plate

"That hit the spot" They commented in unison as the girls widened their eyes in shock

" That was fast" Astrid said

" Really fast" Sage added as Diane giggled.

" Now, Jackie, guys think how will you fund the restaurant when ice face has her credit card? "

" True.... " The girls muttered before Sage raised a brow

" Ice face again? " She asked as the Diane's voice echoed in their heads

"Ice face.... That's true you said that earlier too...How did you know my brother's nick name?" Jackie asked das her heart beat became messy

*Diane; Opps out of bad habit, I slipped again, but I can't let Jackie in on the truth it's too soon"*

" Really? Some else calls him that, the person has great vision then, don't you see his poker face when he is around? Like he's the boss if everyone" Diane said casually as Jackie nodded

" Well I can't argue with that"

" True" Diane nodded giggling as sweat dripped down her face

*Diane: " That was close, remind me never to do that again"*

" So... What do we do? "

" I'll fund you guys" Diane said as the girls froze then scoffed

" This isn't the time to joke, you said that with the house too" Harley said as the girls shook their head at Diane

" A I'm not joking, B I haven't taken you home so you can't call what I said earlier a lie and C isn't that weird coming from you trickster?" Diane asked as Harley nodded subconsciously making the girls shake their head

" Hey! That was a cheap trick!"

"Here" Diane said tossing a black card at Jackie as she turned to her new bowl of noodles

"You..."

"How..." The girls asked in shock as Diane ate

"Don't ask, just use it" Diane replied as she smiled at the new bowl of noodles.

The girls stared at the card in shock

"Hey, where did you get a black card, it's so rare... " Vanna and Courtney asked as Diane froze then ignored them slurping on her bowl of noodles

"Hey...You guys..." Sage, Jackie and Ruby said trying to stop the girls

" Black card? Are you by any chance hiding something from us?" Astrid asked as every where became silent. Mo yun looked up at Diane

"Master..."

"Of course I am, but I can't tell you now, when it's time you'll know naturally, also...that is a debt collected from the lady I serve, my salary" Diane explained

"She gave you a black card as your salary? Which boss is so generous? Sounds like she paid you to leave" Vanna joked as everyone except Diane, Ruby and Sage laughed

Sage got worked up as she growled angrily

" That's enough!" Sage shouted startling the girls

" Uh? Sage..."Astrid said as Diane interrupted

" Excuse me" Diane said walking away

"There are questions that aren't meant to be asked no matter how much you want to know" Sage said angrily at Astrid before walking away as Astrid felt shocked and hurt watching her leave.

"Sister..." Astrid muttered as the girls bowed their head.

Diane walked around the college in the snow alone as Mo yun's voice rang in her head mixed with her the remembrance of her past

*Mo yun:"Family protects you from harm..."*

*Skyler:" If you're in danger you can rely on no one but yourself, never expect anyone to save you"*

*Mo yun:" Family picks you up at your lowest..."*

*Stephanie:" You're just a low life, you can't make your father proud, then I have no use for a useless child"*

*Mo yun:" Family is always there for you no matter what"*

*Stephanie: Diane, I'm sorry I have to leave you, you have a tough life ahead of you, you won't survive it, it would be a drag taking you along with me "*

*"Mo yun:" Family never abandons you"*

*Diana:"I have to go, live well"*

*Mo yun:" Family makes you strong"*

*Skyler:" If you can't be stronger like your sister then I have no use for you"*

*Mo yun:" Most importantly, Family loves you"*

*Stephanie:" I hate you to the core of my existence"*

*Skyler:" I hate weaklings"*

*Diana:" We will always be together"*

*Catherine:" I hate you!"*

Their last words echos as Diane stopped then held her hair as she fell to her knees screaming out loud

"Whyyyy??!!!!" She screamed as tears ran down her face as her voice was filled with pain then she quites down bowing

"Why?" She repeated as whisper as she slowly lost consciousness, she noticed she was moving as she attempted to open her eyes but failed

"Why?" She whispered before giving in to the darkness.

Diane opened her eyes on her bed as she felt a splitting head ache as soon as she did

"That hurts..." She muttered trying to reach out for a cup of water, as Sage appeared in her front frowning.

Diane flashed a silly grin as Sage sighed handing over the water

"What were you doing out in the snow?"

"I was heading back here, I think I lost my balance and tripped but I was too lazy to get up, so I decided I'd lay there for a while"

"In the snow, don't you know how...", Sage trailed off while Diane paused blinking at her twice

" Know how what? "

"... "

" Come on! Finish the sentence... " Diane groaned playfully as she was curious about what Sage was about to say

" Don't you know if Bobby found you there he'll get agitated again"

"Oh him.... He won't" Diane replied suddenly in a low spirit

" What do you mean, he did once"

" And that's the last time he will"

" What did you do? "

" I didn't do anything "

" Diane.... "

*"He's forgotten all about me again this time, just like last time and it hurts "* Diane said in thought as she took a deep breath then smiled

"I'll go take a hot bath, then get some sleep!" Diane said excitedly running into the bathroom with her robe.

"D..." Sage muttered as Diane shut the door on her.

The girls arrived minutes later as they met Sage sitting by the window silent staring into the night sky

Astrid reached out her hand to touch her but paused after remembering what happened earlier. Diane walked out of the bathroom at the same time as they turned to her then froze

She looked down on her figure with an expressionless face

*Diane:" I don't have enough energy to disguise "* She said in thought as her skin was as white as snow and her body and left eye scarred with its pupils turned white

Then she suddenly turned out to the snow as she panicked a bit

"D..." Sage called as she noticed her face became paler

"Save it for later, I have something to do, don't wait up" Diane said in a cold voice as she took a big black baggy top wearing it and ran out

Jackie arrived home as she walked into her villa with a sad face

*Jackie:"Diane..."* Jackie said in thought

"So you know your way back" Bobby's chilly voice rang behind her but Jackie didn't respond like she used to

"Hi brother" She replied turning to Bobby with a sad expression on her face

"What's with that expression?"

Jackie froze then became expressionless as she bowed her head making Bobby feel shocked

*" Jackie: That's right, he doesn't know who Diane is anymore, he doesn't even remember little yin, yet he agreed to marry that witch....brother you're so pitiful"* Jackie thought before raising her head up

" Nothing, probably tired, I'll take my leave " She explained walking away silently and leaving Bobby who was trying to figure out what was wrong

*"Bobby: Was it the credit card I took? No...she wasn't this down when I took it, what's wrong...."* Bobby thought as he watched his half leave

Diane ran through the snow as she was headed for Yale's

*"It can't be... If the old lady knows where Yan is I'll have her head for sure"* Diane said in thought as blood dripped from her joints due to her overstressing her broken bones which now pierced through her organs brutally

Diane arrived as Yale's minutes later as she looked worn out, her skin cracked with black veins around them, she looked around for signs that anyone was lurking around so she jumped up to the roof swiftly passing by one her hands and foot with great speed. She arrived at the VC'S office as she slithered down kicking the door open. She walked towards the room seeing it was dusty which means Yi wasn't back yet.

Growling in anger Diane walked towards her drawer opening it as she sees a golden box and a note

*Old Yi: "Yo! You didn't tell me you were poisoned so I'm not obliged to tell you where I am, even though you would have already figure it out before you barge into my office. Inside this golden box is the Buddha pill, it should suppress your poison, also you should be noticing the presence of the being in you by now, that's a long story...suppress it till I'm back and I'll fill you in on all your questions, don't you die on me kid, your old hag."*
