CHAPTER 16: INTO THE ABYSS

Diane walked around the college as she frowned walking towards the water fountain

"It looks weird hiding the changes like this..." She muttered looking at her reflection as she paused removing the lense from her left eye and cleaning the make up around it.

Her left eye has a straight scar drawn from her eyelid to her cheek bone. And the red pupils turned white leaving her other eye with blood red pupils

*"I guess this look isn't that bad... If I wanted to be a rebel that is... Sigh, college bores me"* Diane said in thought as she walked away.

Bobby walked into his car as he locks it raising up it's tinted glasses then sighs resting his head on the chair.

"What just happened?" He muttered as flashbacks of Diane arriving in class played in his head over and over

"Grrr.. what's with that girl!" Bobby shouted feeling frustrated as he hit the steering wheel then lay his head on it.

Diane passed by his car on a skate board as he missed her and she couldn't see him.

Diane arrived at the hostel as she walked in. The girls outside from other rooms froze at her scary look as they became defensive instinctively

*"That's right, people are always afraid of me, no matter what I look like, no matter what I do, no matter who I become, what i achieve, path I take, they would always resent me, who was I to begin with... The young master of the underworld "* Diane thought in a mocking tone as she walked into the room. She sees her bed just the way she left it, the black curtains around it and it's creepy aura.

Diane sighed as she leaps unto it, her body felt light and the bed didn't creak so apparently she was as light as a feather

"Guess 2 weeks diet pays off uh?" Diane muttered as she digs her hand into her hair then smiled, her smile slowly became a giggle then a laugh, until it became uncontrollable and ominous, she peeks at the little light penetrating in her dark space, her blood red pupils glimmering

"So little, but not even the light can save me now" Diane whispered throwing 2 sharp knives, the sound of glass shattering was heard and the little light dissipated. She lays on the bed tiredly dozing off

The girls walked in minutes later as Astrid turned on the light.

"She's in?" Harley muttered as the girls noticed only Diane's space didn't have light. Sage and Ruby noticed the sharp knives thrown near the shards

"Is she..." Vanna asked as Courtney walked towards the curtains drawing them open. The bright light shone on Diane as her face came to view

The girls held in a yelp. Diane opened her eyes unannounced, to the action startling the girls as her left eye pupil was gone.

"You're back" Diane said her voice drained of her usual joyful emotions. She turns away from them facing the darkness as she hair fell from the bed dangling

"D..." Harley called

"What?" Diane replied sharply startling Harley who froze then didn't talk anymore. The girls silently walked to their beds.

4 hours later Diane opened her eyes as the girls were asleep... Most of them..

She flipped up to the roof smoothly

"Never thought I'd see that move so soon" Sage said drinking Diane's carton of Rio as Diane frowned

"What are you doing on the roof?"

"Don't tell me you have amnesia like young master Ming" Sage asked as Diane sat down silently

"It's alright to cry"

"Why do you all assume solitude as inability to cry?"

"Because that's what it is, not entirely though, I'd like to see it as inability to fight back"

"So you call me a coward?" Diane asked her voice filled with weariness

"Of course...not, You're far from being a coward" Sage replied suddenly as Diane turned to her suddenly.

"Why? Why is it when I'm at my lowest you're there, why is it you try to see the good in me?"

" We're all there at your lowest, just in a different way"

" How's that?" Diane smirked as Sage replied

" Memories" Sage replied as Diane's face froze

*You are Lan's young master, Yin, you aren't invincible, at least not yet, but you're strong, yes you would have strong moments but you would be weak too, at that moment never forget the feeling of being weak because only the strong knows what being weak means.*

"Not even you get to tell me what to do"

"Actually I want you to do whatever it is you wish" Sage replied as Diane held her can of Rio tightly

"I see, don't regret that later on" Diane replied as a smirk formed on her face

"You've Cyber security tests to take tomorrow, you didn't attend a single class how will you pass?"

" Who said you needed to attend classes to pass"

"Well unless you are an hacker nothing you just said makes sense" Sage said as Diane smirked

" Okay" Sage replied as Diane's smile faded.

"You can cook, you are a great business lady, you know how to hack and you are ambidextrous...So when do you plan to tell us who you are Diane no surname" Sage asked stretching a can of Rio at her

"Not anytime soon" Diane replied grabbing it as she looked into the starry night with Sage

*Little Lu, I cheated you, what would you say if you found out?* " Diane smirked as she flashes back to the past

*"Young master Lu, you know a lot of spells right?"*

*" Little Yin what are you getting at?"*

*" He he, so smart, I just learnt a spell..."*

*" Not interested"* Little Si Ming said as Diane pouted her lips turning away

*" Sigh, what is it?"*

*" It's easy, its called eternal love"*

*" Tch, leave it to you to make a serious spell sound dumb"*

*" Hey don't disrespect my art"* Diane said as she explained the process to him

*"You ready?"*

*"Hmn"* Little Si Ming said as Diane pulled out her core gritting her teeth in pain, Bobby accepts in as she smiled weakly

*"You are mine from now on"* Yin said as she fainted Bobby caught her

*"Tch, silly girl, I was always yours"*

*ICU*

*" How's the young master?"*

*" He's doing great, Looks like the anaesthetics worked well, now we can perform the surgery"*

*The doctor: Weird, till today there has never been an anesthetic that can put a dragon to sleep"* The doctor says as he noticed Bobby was still conscious

*"Seems I was right, but how doesn't he feel anything? That's some amazing spiritual power"*

*Flashback ends*

*"Seems I went ahead and did something silly again, we can settle the score when you aren't an amnesiac"* Diane thought as she smirked then widens her eyes, her face became paler and the veins became darker. Sage quickly noticed as she hits her back hard making her spit out blood.

Diane panted as she was in shock from the threatening situation.

"You've had that in for quite a while but didn't realize because..."

"I couldn't feel it" Diane whispered as she turned to Sage with a smile

"It's a huge luck I've got you here" Diane said as she turned away coughing again

"Hey..."

"I'll be fine" Diane replied as she turned to Sage smiling weakly

"The ton of pressure your muscles are under and the damaged organs, even to take a breath must be extremely painful, but what's worse is you can't feel the pain....people wish to be numb to pain, to be invincible...is this what it's like?" Sage asked looking away with her body shaking in fear

"I can take it..." Diane whispered

"Uh?" Sage replied turning to Diane

"The pain, the battle I can take it. It's what I am, it's what defines me...I won't lose to it, better believe it" Diane said smiling as Sage froze

*SAGE: "She's crazy, no doubt"*

"Sage? How did you find a match?"

"Hmn?"

"My blood, it's a rare type, RH- null... I can give to every one but can't collect from anyone so how did you get my blood type and the quantity needed for a craniotomy"

Diane asked as the wind became fierce howling through the dark night

"Sage...." Diane called with a fierce voice

"A lady was wheeled in as soon as you got admitted, she was dying with no relatives...she made the decision.. "

" What?!" Diane muttered as she frowned

"That was her last wish, to help out in anyway she can"

" I see" Diane smiled as she rested her head on Sage

*DIANE: "I've got big things ahead, I'll thank her in hell"*

The next day the girls woke up to the alarm as they yawned

"Good morning" Astrid greeted with a smile as Harley and Vanna groaned

"What's good about it"

"That's my line.. what's up?" Sage asked as the girls sighed

"They know they didn't get up to 90 percent on the test"

Courtney said with a smirk as Harley turned to her

"HEY! AT LEAST I KNOW I WILL GET UP TO 70!" Harley shouted

" Show some respect would ya?! " Vanna added as Diane sat up startling them

" AH! "

" HEY YOU! MAKE A NOISE OR SOMETHING DON'T STARTLE US LIKE THAT!" Harley and Vanna shouted as Diane turned to them

"It's okay, I know you guys did your best" Diane said taking the girls attention as she looked lifeless and empty.

*SAGE:"She..."* Sage said in thought as she stared at Diane's abused body.

Diane took out a white bottle popping 2 pills on her palm before gulping it and putting it back in her box.

"She believes us..." Harley and Vanna replied as they dramatically cried showing they were touched by Diane's words

*DIANE: "I know I don't have much time left...but won't spend my time silking about the past, I have so much to do ...also I have that lady to thank for giving me a chance to live on, this life doesn't belong to me so I have to be responsible for it."*

Her veins buldged out as she squeezed her palm in anger

*DIANE: Yet I have debts to pay off, they keep piling up, will I ever repay them all? No! I can't afford another debt"* Diane declared in thought as stood up with an expressionless face then walked towards the door

"See you later then" She said before walking away silently. The girls froze as Harley replied in shock

" Guys, do you feel that, she seems different now, totally different "

" Hmn, what did she go through to achieve such a massive change?" Astrid muttered as Ruby frowned

*RUBY: "To live everyday even knowing there is nothing to look up to, daring to give light to others when stuck in the darkness, saying tomorrow will be better knowing it won't, making people around you shine while hiding your light, isn't that right Sage?"*

Ruby said in thought

" Hmn" Sage replied before walking out with Ruby

" Hey what's up with those three?" Astrid asked as the girls shrug walking out.

Diane and the girls arrived at college as she took off her coat. Sage noticed the mark and veins on her body were all gone. The only scar left was the one on her left eye, other than that her skin and face appeared as smooth and white as porcelain glass.

"Here, Ruby wore a coat but you didn't" Diane said throwing off her coat to Sage.

The girls turned to her as was dressed in a black net with a big black shirt dropping off her left shoulder and reaching her thighs and black heeled boots. Her hair was packed up to the left side of her head in long pony dropping at her waist

"Your...scars..." They muttered as Diane smiled

"Oh..I took a pill this morning remember? It's for this"

*The girls:"......."*

"Isn't that too little?" Sage asked as Diane smirked

"You guys can catch a cold, I can't.. remember?" She said smiling before a frown creeped unto her face changing the aura around her, she walked away silently as the girls couldn't help but tremble at the heavyweight of her deadly aura

"She...she still..." Ruby said as Sage looked down at her hands which were also shaking in instinctively in fear

"Let's get to class first" Sage said as they gulped hard, walking away.

Diane arrived at the VC'S office as she as the note from last time was still there

*"You didn't just go 'on a vacation' did you?"* Diane said angrily as she walked back towards her class

*"Something is wrong"* Diane said as she walked out with a frown on her face.

She hears a low sobbing and whispering coming from a dark space in the building as she froze

"No, please...not again...please, I beg you"

*Diane: That voice... Sounds like... despair"*

"Please... " The voice muttered again as Diane turned running towards the direction, she arrived at the dark corner.

She saw 4 ladies gathering around another lady as she seemed worn out and tired, badly beaten and bruised.

"Seems like you didn't get the lesson the first time" Veronica, the leader of the girls said as she smirked

" Just my favorite type of people... Bullies" Diane said in the dark with a chilly voice, startling the ladies

"Who.. who is there?! Show you face!" Veronica asked as Diane smirked

"To whom did I owe this honor of stumbling into a couple of jerks, must be my luck" Diane said as she walked into the light, her long red hair was poured down to her face covering her arms, face and back.

"Boss, it's just a girl" Chloe one of the girls said as the leader smirk

"Listen up squirt if you don't want to be beaten up badly like 'Ms please I beg you' over here, call your family to transfer us money and be our dog." Veronica said as the girls laughed out.

Diane smiled then slowly laughed as a deep chilly voice rang out of her throat. She continued as it looked like she had lost her sanity, her deep red pupils could be seen through the mess of her hair as it looked murderous

"Stop it..." Veronica said as the girls felt really chilly and scared

"STOP IT! I SAID STOP IT!" Veronica, Chloe and Halle said at once as they were shivering in fear

Diane stepped forward as the girls moved back in fear then tripped over.

" I have no family" Diane replied as the girls ran away in fear. She digs her hand into her hair resting her head backwards. Then she turned to the lady who now shivered in fear.

"T....Th...Thank you"

"....." Diane turned to the girl as she still had murderous intentions, so she stepped back a bit

"Wait! Thank you for saving me"
